Miss UCLA is a cunt. She sure does reflect well upon her school. Not.

Update: I just sent a note to President of the UCLA system, Mark Yudof.

She's entitled to her opinions. And I don't think the school administration needs to step in. I mean really, UCLA is like over 35% Asian students. Call it a lesson in life, or a beat down in the parking lot. I dunno, it's all the same. icon_lol.gif

LOL! I can understand what she means by that though... I have a sister that goes to UCLA my parents come like every 2 weeks and gives her food and take cares of her other personal need. Its mostly because they just want her to live comfortable and not worry about anything else. I do agree with her its annoying when your in the library trying to study while people are talking. At my school when your trying to study and there is like 20,000 Asian people talking and wont shut up when your trying to study or read! And they are all fobs who dont talk english or understand it that well so it takes awhile for them to understand be quiet!

When I went to UW, where Asians are 25% of the population, there were almost ALWAYS Asian guys playing VIDEO GAMES on the library computers EVERY TIME I went. Once in a blue moon you'd see a White guy doing the same, and of course there were plenty of Asians NOT playing video games. But yeah, the constant interruption from people playing video games and being loud about it was vastly an Asian phenomenon. I'm not being racist. I'm simply stating facts. Also, Asians smoke too much cigarettes. STOP IT!

As for being on cell phones in in appropriate places, it's the MESSICANS that go on their phones in the theatres. What are you all doctors waiting for that emergency call? No. You're just chatting to one of 25 billion cousins you have. Now shut up and let me enjoy Happy Feet!

And while we're on the topic of stereotypes, I only saw a Black guy yell at the screen during one movie. And it was a BAD movie, so he made the film better. Good for you Black guy. Good for you.

Hah she shouldn't have put that video on the internet. I know what she's complaining about, but its not just asians that do it.

I used to have a korean roommate that talked to his mom all the time on the phone. Within a week my other two roommates and I learned the word for mom in korean--umma. Now I can tell when other koreans are talking to their mothers on the phone which happens quite often. lol

I read about this on jezebel

Some have identified the woman as political science student Alexandra Wallace, but her personal page isn't publicly visible on Facebook (a hate page called "Alexandra Wallace (UCLA Library B!#!$)" is). And according to UCLA spokesman Phil Hampton, the university hasn't confirmed that she's a student. Hampton also says her rant about Asian-American students is "contrary to the values the university believes in" and calls it "repugnant."

Go to UW and then you'll be like, oh, this girl is just recounting stuff she witnesses every day. It's not racism, it's stating observable fact. Note that not all Asians do this either, only those who don't speak much (if any) English.

This remix is so hilarious! What a way to make fun of a crass bimbo.

On the issue at hand, if the asian students are being noisy, disruptive, etc., why not just tell them to shut the fuck up? I'm sure they'd understand that. They got into UCLA, didn't they--and not because of affirmative action or some other preferential treatment crap? So they must have some rudimentary understanding of the English language.

Here is a response I received from President Mark Yudof...

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the recent video posted by a UCLA student on YouTube. I am disappointed and saddened that a member of the University of California community would post such comments reflecting uninformed and stereotypical views of the Asian community. UCLA Chancellor Gene Block has posted a video and a written statement regarding the video and both can be found at http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/chancellor-block-statement-199032.aspx. I join with Chancellor Block in his admonition to, “let this incident serve as a reminder of our collective responsibility to confront hateful and ignorant speech and to uphold UCLA’s core values of respect and integrity.”

The University’s ten Chancellors and I are dedicated to ensuring that every campus of the University of California provides a welcoming and inclusive community where all members of that community of learning will be respectful of differing views, opinions, experiences, and background. We are equally resolved to protect freedom of expression for the entire UC community. You may find of interest a copy of the enclosed statement University leaders issued last year regarding incidents of racism, intolerance, and incivility.

By copy of this e-mail, I am sharing your message with Chancellor Block so that he, too, will be aware of your concern.

    With best wishes, I am,

    Sincerely yours,

    Mark G. Yudof
    President

    Enclosure

    cc: Chancellor Block

At this point, whether she is or isn't is no longer important.

The administration of the UC system has voiced a thoughtful and considerate message both for freedom of expression and against abuse of freedom of expression. Chancellor Block and President Yudoff have transformed the rant of an ignorant shrew into a teaching moment for all.

Kudos to the administration of the UC system!
