I wanted to ask the community what they do during their spring break. I'm far from rich or wealthy but wonder if there are some fun events where you don't have to be 21 to get in. I'm personally from the Northeast, near Boston for school and in New York when at home. It'd certainly be exciting to make some gay friends and have a fun time. Right now all I have on the table is heading back home to visit old friends. Definitely valuable but not that different.

Share your plans and any ideas.

Get some friends and take a road trip.
Camping is cheap but fun, too.
You don't have to be 21 to have fun on a road trip or camping.

I used to go skiing with my friends for spring break. Fun times!

That's a great idea, haha. I may have to get on that. Definitely added to the possibilities list.

The Atlantic side of Florida (Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Cocoa Beach) have some really cheap deals. I mean, like dirt cheap. Grant you, you get what you pay for-but you also get a beach and a massive amount of hotties.

    Peace,
    Bardy

    Daytona sucks.

It was freakin' cold last year and there wasn't anything going on but a bunch of underage kids passing out on the sidewalks.

My other friends went to South Padre Island in South Texas and they had a great time....... Don't know if there's any "gay" Spring Break scene there though.

I was made aware that spring break is for studying for comps in May. I have yet to start that but maybe today.

I'm just enjoying how peaceful everything is here without all the kids.

yeah cannot go to the local bar with friends when under 21 - except on the otherhand I have not been carded once when I just went to them with TA's from previous college courses. Yeah, I make strange friends haha

I would say it depends on where you are heading. Here I would drive to one of the nearby beaches and just hang...it'll cost a good amount for gas later on but it's worth it. Going to a park/mall to just chill too is awesome - especially with friends or if you just grab your iPod/whatever to listen to music.

I'm going on a road trip with my sister to SC - very small family reunion for the end of my spring break.

Boston and New York and you want something to do fro spring break? Look out the window.

Consider visiting either one of these cities as though you did not live there.

    EVOLUTION IN FLORIDA:
    - Back in the 50s and 60s East Coast college students went to Fort Lauderdale, until the locals got tired of drunks and loud parties... and booted them.
    - In the 70s and 80s college students went to Daytona Beach... repeat.
    - In the 90s and 00s (?) college students went to Panama City Beach.

South Padre Island is also hot, but farther for the Eat Coast students.
If you've got money I hear people go to Mexico.

i'm poor as shit right now, though recently graduated- going on spring break with a bunch of fraternity brothers and cheerleaders from school (university of cincinnati). we're getting a couple penthouse suites in panama city, and it's breaking down to $150/person total for 5 days. before kegs and food. i'm flying down but the rest are car-pooling. totally doable for a week on the beach.

Thanks for all of the ideas guys, they're all so different yet cool. We'll see how things pan out. I really want to see some of the people still back at home, but it would be more exciting to do something other than being a homebody all day at my mother's house.

    Backpacking

Airfare can be "free" if you volunteer to be a courier.

What does being a courier entail? Sounds intriguing.

And Ariodante, Spring Break is typically a time where college students get about a week off from classes. A vacation from school to relax and have fun.

Montreal. Hands down. It isn't too far from you either. I go to school (McGill), and I've met quite a few people from Boston.

Legal drinking age is 18. The nightlife here is probably one of the best in North America next to Miami and L.A

It's vibrant, and the culture here is amazing. I'd say its a mix between New York and Paris.

That sounds pretty awesome. Where do people usually stay in Montreal and is it expensive? That'd be a bomb ass road trip, not gonna lie. Plus I need to get out to more clubs and experience the "scene". Although if I go with straight friends they may not be as adventurous haha.

So true, but not exactly exciting or new. Rare, but not extraordinary haha.
