All I can say is: "Thank God I live in South Africa!". I am not saying things like this don't happen here. It is just very rare for a gay guy to get bashed here. We have laws that protect us and give equal protection. We have just learnt to live and let live as a society.
From what I read in the press, it seems that we are far more tolerant towards others than some first world countries. That makes me really proud to be South African.
I hope in a few years time, US LGTB's will have the same rights South African LGTB's have.
