Are you sure this is a Britney Spears song? Since so much digital manipulation has been applied to the voice, for all we know, the real singer is a 47-year-old Filipina woman living in Trinidad.

This is pretty obviously a case of a team of marketers sitting in a room with a team of studio technicians and a handful of songwriters to hammer out some demo material to be shopped in front of focus groups and then tweaked until it fits within the target audience profile laid out by the market research contractors. Somewhere in there, there might have been something vaguely resembling musical artistry, but they did their best to bury it under a mound of generic knockoff Gagaism.

I think the whole Pop/European/techno/auto-tune Flavor of "Femme Fetale" works.....She never said she was Mariah Carey and has never claimed to be...She loves Dance Music and said this Album.Is.A.Dance.Album!-I:f you wanna Dance and move then mission accomplished. bottom line

I think the album is amazing

I agree that writing a catchy song is its own kind of artistry which can be admirable. I love a good pop hook as much as anyone, but personally didn't find this song at all catchy. The "chorus" consists of one word/note repeatedly going nowhere, the overall melody is paper thin, half the vocals sound like something out of an Egyptian Lover-era talkbox back when an electro gimmick was enough to get you a #1 hit. To me, "catchy" means a verse or chorus I can sing in the shower or find myself humming as I walk through a parking garage. I have a hard time believing anyone could turn off the speakers and sing the chorus to this song to their quiet living room and say that one bland note "catches" them up in the heat of the song. Compared to this song, even her own "Baby One More Time" is a masterpiece.

If anything, I Wanna Go or Gasoline will become singles.
They seem the most plausible to get tons of airtime.
