So finally Blaine kissed Kurt and it was not a quick peck or something but a nice romantic one. Loved the episode.
Will post a clip as soon as I can find one.

Hello US TV, welcome to the family.

We had gay kiss on TV (some teen oriented) for years in Europe, Check out Skins, from UK.

For a show that's gayer than an American Idol Dick Orgy I'm surprised it took THIS LONG for two men to kiss each other on screen.

Actually the first gay kiss was Kurt being kissed by the football guy and then Santana and Brittany kiss. But this was the best one and the most romantic one.

I think what made this episode was the music. First off, how funny were all of the original songs New Directions wrote? Between "Trouty Mouth," "Big Ass Heart," and "Only Child," I seriously was laughing WAY too hard! Then we get to Amber Riley's (Mercedes) original song "Hell to the No." How that song is deemed not Regionals worthy is beyond me. "Get It Right" and "Loser Like Me" I've been listening to since they were released but now seeing them in context of the show makes them SO much more powerful! I still have chills from "Get It Right" and how Lea Michele (Rachel) held back her tears. Then moving onto the cover songs from the Warblers... WOW! I normally can't stand Darren Chris (Blaine) having every solo but that cover of "Misery" was on point! Then Chris Colfer's (Kurt) rendition of "Blackbird" brought a tear. He seriously has the best voice on the show. And their regional set of "Candles" and "Raise Your Glass" was exactly what I expect from the Warblers and were thoroughly enjoyable.

It was a brilliant episode - would have liked to see closure for the Rachel/Finn nonsense that has been plaguing the screen this whole season (I was originally into them together but after the break up it has just gotten to be revolting to watch). Right now I feel Finn is a stagnant character.

All the Glee songs were entertaining in their own way though - Puck is always doing something wicked

This ep made me shiver. Ooo it was good. My only tiff is that winning regionals didn't have that "THEY WON?!" feel to it. I had that feeling for Kurt but not for the glee club. Their songs were awesome though! icon_biggrin.gif

I agree. I really enjoyed the ep but the ending with the announcement of who'd won was terrible.

There have been maaaaaany gay kisses on US television already, just not on this show.

The US version of Skins, on the other hand, which copies the British version almost exactly, had to be censored because it violated child pornography laws (which ban depicting minors having sex).

I have to admit, I stopped watching a few episodes into this season...and wait for it...I have NEVER liked Kurt, and can't imagine I'd like him at this point!

Still though, nice to see the show didn't shy away from what will no doubt be considered a contraversial decision to show a full on, passionate kiss between two men. It seems like, as of late, it is acceptable to portray gay characters on TV...but they're either supposed to be stereotype inducing, or the show is supposed to be on specialty cable channels.

And it's nice to know that the show finally avoided a music theme week!

There is absolutely no chemistry between Kurt & Blaine other than friendship. Kurt is an example of one of two common portrayals of gays on TV (the jester, the other being the eunich, which is Blaine -- i wish I could remember who to attribute that concept to). As such, he is so over the top flaming that is is almost impossible to sexualize him in any meaningful way with Blaine, or any other character for that matter. This makes him more "accetable" to mainstream audiences, as they can't possibly imagine him hot & heavy in bed with another guy.

Now for chemistry...definitely Puck & Lauren. They shouldn't work, but they somehow do. They're fun together, with Artie & Brittany a close second.

P.S. Who thinks Terri Schuster is going to come back preggers from the medication-induced one-night stand she & Will had?

Am I the only one that does NOT watch this show? I tried but it just didn't do anything for me. I like the music, but the story line escapes me. I even have it Tivo'd but never watch it. I guess I should give it another try.
