    I am not religious but:

"Mother Theresa, about a year before her passing, said that if you want to know what is really going on in your local, state, and federal governments and in your world, stop reading the newspapers, and stop watching television for 30 days."

maybe she was onto something, although I stopped owning a tv long before she said this.

I wanted to BLAST this post when clicking on the topic but, FUCK MAN, she was right. Be alone in the sense you have no ability to skew the Truth beyond that which is meant to come back to your knowledge in this lifetime. YES, meet real people!!!!

I haven't had a TV in my entire adult life.
Well ok, I "have" a TV, but only because it was given to me.
    I don't use it. It's a great dust collector.

That would require lifting it, which means I'd have to get up off my ass from the computer...so no. icon_razz.gif

I've never owned a TV, but I've lived with people who had one from time to time and fell into that comfortable routine of zoning out. I sure was entertained by months of Anna Nicole drama back in the day. icon_biggrin.gif

Got fed up with the cable company several years ago and gave it up. There are only three or four shows that I would watch anyway.

Reading books is more fun and the library is free.

Is it the cool thing to not have a TV? I love TV. I don't always watch it, but if I am home at night, I will watch. I am usually at school, the gym, or with friends though so I don't log too much time with it.

"TV is the most effective tool ever invented to solve the problem of self-awareness."

You can quote me on that.
