I eat rice as a snack at night ~one dry cup. To add some nice falvor I usually add chopped up or dried fruit. Yes this makes it very tastey but have started wanting to try something new. Any ideas for good things to add to plain white rice?

I cook rice in chicken stock and pureed tomatoes. When it's done I add peas and cooked carrot.

Brown rice here. I don't eat it raw because you can break a tooth.

When I make my rice, I usually dry fry it a bit in a pan with a touch of olive oil. This toasts the rice and really releases a nutty fragrance. Once the pan is really hot and the rice is smoking a bit, that's when I throw in some chicken stock and some butter.

Make a mini-meal out of it. Make oyakodon. Or maybe small portions of beef or fish.

first of all, stop eating plain white rice. second, try eating wild or brown rice. they both have more nutritional value. finally, you can add mushrooms, onions, garlic, cheese, and meat to your rice. dude, you can do what ever you want to rice to make it better. but my suggestion is to stop eating white rice

Yep, chicken stock and a little slice of butter and some salt... so good. Try eating short grain brown rice, I find it has much better flavor than the brown rice you are probably used to.

A real, breathing "Rice"--you know, the Asian kind. I actually thought this post was about something else! icon_biggrin.gif

Visit an Indian food store sometime if you're looking to spice up your rice.
Outrageous selection of spices and curries available there. Also, in addition to brown or wild, try something different like Basmati or Jasmine...you'll never be bored again. icon_wink.gif
