Was talking online to this guy tonight and found two things he believed very shocking

1.) You can not pass on or contract HIV if you use a condom false, false, false. Condoms do not prevent the spread of HIV or other STD they do help keep the spread down but do not prevent it.

2.)You can not contract HIV if you bare bottom and are the top false again, where do people get these ideas.

What sex myths have you heard in the past?

met a few guys who didnt want to get sucked without a condom on. there have been no cases of oral transmission of HIV as of my last reading up on it, the risk factor is akin to anal with a condom, perhaps even less. but even if it were more dangerous that becomes a quality of life issue for me. i dont want to suck on latex sausages my whole life icon_razz.gif

    A couple scary statistics-

"According to the Harvard AIDS Institute, 50% of all new HIV cases last year occured in people under age 25. Most were infected sexually and the number of HIV infected teenagers doubles every 14 months."

    http://www.life-zone.org/statistics_hiv_aids_std.html

I worry we have lost our way in getting the message out to the young.

While I wish this was true-it isn't. HIV can and has spread through oral transmission.

Sadly I agree due the "miracle of medicine” there is not as great of a fear as there used to be and many people still believe it’s a “gay disease”.

Fact: It is illegal to have sex in any other position then missionary in the state of Virginia

just read up on the CDC again, and there have only been a few cases, so its not impossible but statistically very improbable. like i said, quality of life issue. there is no 100% safe sex. but with oral, im not sucking on a sandwich bag. anal is a different realm, i'm insistent on condoms.

Given the outcome of Lawrence v.Texas I would imagine that if challenged the Virginia law wouldn't hold up.

Out of curiosity I looked up the Texas Penal Code, and it seems that the sodomy statutes are still valid law 8 years after being struck as unconstitutional. I guess they just can't legally enforce it.

If someone doesn't have any visual signs or symptoms of disease they either don't have one or are not contagious.

Anal-oral sex is safe as long as it's washed and looks clean..

If only Skin-to-skin contact, it's safe

    All black guys are hung.

Cum is a good source of protein.

    Uncircumcised dicks look creepy.

Everyone is a top. There are like no bottoms.

You are correct. It has never officially been removed. Lawrence v. Texas had implications beyond sodomy laws as well. Prior to that ruling it was illegal to buy a dildo in the state of Texas. You were permitted to buy an educational device as long as you signed a wavier saying that you would only use it for educational purposes. Now we are free to have all the butt sex and dildos our little hearts desire.

There are other things you can catch from oral sex though.

Yes, oral sex is sex, and it can boost cancer risk
"And HPV may now be overtaking tobacco as the leading cause of oral cancers in America in people under age 50."

This is what self-righteous people say.
    Its a justification.
If you are not a very sexually intimate person it might not matter to you. However, there are people who require that their partners be able to sexually satisfy them.
Sex is huge in some relationships. Just because its not for you doesn't mean its so for the rest of the populace of the gay community.

True, but just like when Marylands "illegal to swim on dry land" law was struck down, they remain on the books, but are not enforceable. As a protest, I swim on land once a day.
