Australian federal police and illegal immigrants have clashed in a violent confrontations at the Christmas Island detention centre to compounds on fire last night.

The violent protests on Christmas island by illegal immigrants attempting to enter Oz via the back door, have prompted angry responses from Aussies and Australians.

A main veiw is that: all these in detention should now be repatriated to their original homelands and use the space to accommodate and feed as many Japanese families as we can until such time they are ready to go home.

many are sick of the cost maintaining these illegal arrivals. They have the audacity to demand and protest. It is obvious they are better off on Christmas island than they where in camps in Indonesia.

pack all those protesters onto ships and send them back to where they came from. They obviously have no respect for Australian law and should not be allowed to stay in the country. These so called refugees have set fire to the infrastructure that I and my fellow Aussie and Australian tax payers pay with our taxes.

Gillard cannot protect Australian borders and Australian assets, it's compleatly out of controle now. John Howard's plan was working, Nauru was working well and the boats dropped off. Julia should do another back flip to the Libs plan.

THE refugees advocates need to take a long look at themselves and accept the blame for this predicament. This is a time when tough love is needed and the our pathetic government rewards these rioter rather than dishing out the same treatment they would to Aussie and Australian citizens would receive, it's a disgrace and . Shame on Gillard, Rudd and co.

Gillard you have created this problem and we are paying for it. Take a good look at what you are letting into this country. There is enough to deal with already. Gillard step up to the plate. You wanted to be PM, so now show some leadership and steep down. Please call an election so Aussies and Australians can deliver their verdict on your chaotic minority government. You and your East Timor lies are bringing this country down.

many Aussies and Australians also feel: These people have no respect for our laws or property. They will be no diffrent once they are allowed to enter our Aussie and Australian communities.

They first travel to Indonesia before stepping on a boats. None of these people are genuine asylum seekers, otherwise they would have sought it in a counties closer to their point of origin. They also push the people attempting to get her legally, backwards by pushing in and forcing their way in the back door.

One must be clear that one has expressed the overwhelming view of the people of Australia, they do not necessarily touch on my own personal views. We do know touching on such topics can also lead to name calling like racist, to silance, and repress such openness and free speech. The thing about free speech is that it does allow us to voice maybe to some unpopular topics and views.

My personal view is along the lines, that we have the right to choose who does get to call Australia home.
