I certainly don't think so. I work at a bar at a nightclub in ft. lauderdale as some people may know and while talking to a couple of people I noticed an argument going on between a guy(who was clearly gay and very feminine) and some girl over who knows what.

So as im walking towards them I call for security to come check it out and out of no where, the guy seriously just pushes her and the girl throws her drink in his face and then he slaps her but only gets her chin. me and a bunch of other guys try to rush in and get the him away from her as they're both reaching for each others hair, which clearly the girl couldn't grab onto much.

Security comes in and grabs the guy and says "you never put your hands on a girl" and the gay guy's response "I don't give a f***, I can hit her all I want im gay!" That right there shocked the hell out of me, it doesn't matter gay/straight/bi whatever, i believe a guy should NEVER put his hands on a woman, no excuses.

No not in most situations, but there are ways to handle this. Like talking it out instead of making a public spectacle! icon_razz.gif

Also there is no such thing as "clearly gay" and gay doesn't equal feminine.

I believe in equal rights. The same standards for hitting a girl should hold for hitting a guy. Never hit anyone unless: you are defending yourself or someone else, or in an agreed upon circumstance (e.g., sporting event or martial arts class). I can't stand girls who think they can physically assault a guy without consequence just because they are a girl. If anyone physically assault another person they should not be surprised if they get hit back. In your example though the gay guy was in the wrong because he pushed her first.

I was so confused. I thought you said hit ON a girl then I was like "what does this story have to do with anything?" Now I get it!

Of course it isn't ok. I wouldn't even hit a butch lesbian. If a girl was trying to beat my ass and was actually pretty tough, the most I would do is push her away. If a big old girl is laying some good punches on me, especially if I didn't do anything, I wouldn't feel bad pushing her back. But I wouldn't cause harm to her.

No, I would not hit a female at any circumstances. And no man should, whether Gay or Straight.
And so called "equality for women" and "equal rights" does not come into the equation. Except for an occasional exception, men are physically stronger than women, as such, physical assault would be an act of cowardice, not heroism.

As for defending myself, this is a true story of an incident that occurred nearly thirty years ago.
I was painting the eves of a house when a drop of paint splashed onto the hood of a neighbour's car, making a circle no more than 1 cm across. The owner came out screaming, holding a hammer in his hand (no exaggeration) to pound me to pulp with it to relieve his temper.
I approached him and looked him straight in the eye and calmly ordered him to calm down. As I looked hard, his temper subsided as I then wiped the spot with a piece of cloth I had on me dipped in white spirit, making sure he watched me do it. There was no marks, nothing.
As he went back indoors, I decided to call it a day, and resume the job after he had driven to work.

This goes to show that cases can be resolved without the use of violence or retaliation.

Whether you are male or female, except for in self defense, you never put your hands on anyone, male or female. Your gender does not make it more or less ok to use violence towards someone when not in self defense.

That attack was disgusting. Would it be any less so if it happened to a defenseless guy?

Voilence should only be resorted to in self-defence. It is never okay for a man to initiate an attack on a woman, he is however allowed (in my eyes) to use reasonable force when defending himself. Some of the GIF's posted above, especially the one on the asian woman, are disgraceful.

I think if a guy is defending himself its ok to use some force in order to restrain a women, i think women rely too heavily now adays on the whole i'm a girl i can do whatever the fuck i want to a man and he can't hit me back. Which they shouldn't but when provoked in a certain aspect women should not act in such a manor just expecting for a guy to not get angry and perhaps react in a fit of rage and hurt her because of it.

Not a wise idea. It all goes back to perceptions of how a man should treat a woman, there is no allowance for a gay man....

Look, as a southern gentleman, I am bound by nature to say 'no' however, that is an antiquated notion, just as the image of the helpless, defenseless and demure woman. By no means to I abdicate punching anyone, especially a female...... however, if a bitch is gonna put herself in a man's place, then a bitch needs to accept that she will be treated as such. Now don't go freakin out on me, but if a woman comes running at you throwin elbows and fists..... well, you know the rest. Questions? Comments? Concerns? Eat my ass

If a woman hits you first, by all means hit the bitch back. Women assault men all the time and think it's acceptable. But unless it's in self defense, you shouldn't be laying your hands on anyone, regardless of sex.

    Depends on the situation.
I would normally never hit a woman.
However, I have before. Some girl was making fun of my little brother at a party he is 8 and overweight and has autism I knocked her the fuck out.
    Bitch deserved it.

I do not accept double standards.
