I am a big fan of wearing very wide leather belts with my jeans. I mostly wear a Sam browne police belt or army officer belt..... Any other guys here who like to wear big belts?

I am still looking for a very wide and heavy casual leather belt....belt should be at least some 2.5 "/ 6 cm wide....any tips ?? Most belts I have found so far are no more than 2" (5 cm). Any suggestions where to find real heavy and wide leather belts, that also look nice and striking for a gay man ?

Finer designer belts tend to be wider. Prada has a few within the last year that are wideicon_smile.gif

You can't really generalize that. Burberry Prorsum and Dior Homme make micro-narrow belts.

Well, seems that also most designer belts are not wider than 2 inches (5cm) and also haven't found such wide belts in any shop....and I desperately want one that is 2,5 inches (6+ cm) wide icon_smile.gif with a very big two claw buckle....which is definitely wider than normal...

Anybody maybe experience with custom made belts? Maybe I should find a place where they can make this....
Until then....just keep wearing my police and army belts. Anybody else who wears those for casual wear? My cop belt is 2.25" wide and I love it....but of course it screams COP icon_smile.gif

icon_rolleyes.gif Any store that sells "western" / cowboy attire. Then you can start collecting enormous gaudy buckles.

Which reminds me of the three most common lies told by cowboys:

    3) "I won this belt buckle in a rodeo."
    2) "My pickup truck is paid for."
    1) "I was just helping that sheep get through the fence."

Funny this thread reminded me of when I came out in the early eighties. All the rage was the "clone" look, short cropped hair and mustach. The uniform was white t-shirt tucked in to tight blue jeans, and no belt.

I was just confused and finally had to ask in a bar "why doesn't anyone where belts??"

"Honey," he said, "it's so you can get into their pants easier."

    Oh. icon_rolleyes.gif

    I like wide belts too.

Oh, and here I thought I was the only one who actually cared about a wider belts.

I like those in the photos, except for the vertical double buckle.

I like them, they are part of my "style" but are sometimes hard to come be. Sometimes I see something I like in a departmental store but most times I'm walking somewhere in downtown and see a nice good wide belt in these tiny stores in the city centre and stop to buy it immediately... they are that hard to come by.

I have always worn wider belts with my cargo pants and shorts (I don't own a pair of jeans) always brown and on the darker side. When I wear a suit or get "dressed-up" my belt goes to a slimmer size to fit with what I'm wearing as does the color. But always liked guys who either know how to buy clothes so they don't need a belt or wear a wider one when they do.

My friends and I call those "gay belts," especially when worn with tucked in t-shirts.

Well, personally I don't like those western belts that much...their buckles are huge but the belts generally not that much.....I prefer a very wide leather strap with a big two claw buckle...and it seems that the only real wide belts out there are police and army belts. Casual belts I have found so far are not wider than 2 inches......but I would love to have a casual belt with two claw buckle that is at least 2.5 inches wide icon_smile.gif
(my police and army belts are all around 2.25" so at least a bit wider than casual belts )
Problem with those police belts is that their rectangular buckle screams POLICE, other than that I love them. Would be nice to have such a belt with a more squared buckle....But this seems to be mission impossible...
Did anybody else of you find a belt that is 2.5" wide or more?

They are very much gay belts.

Anyway, it's a great look in my book and I enjoy wearing mine. That's what fashion is about: being different and doing your own 'thing' rather than always copying. Even a double wrap belt would look great with a tucked-in button-up shirt and nice pair of slim black dress pants or slim black jeans. Ideally, and this is my personal opinion, wide or double wrap belts should be worn around the stomach rather than the jeans.

Look up Langlitz Leathers in Portland OR. They can provide anything you need in leather.

Langlitz is best known for made-to-order leather jackets and pants. But I also own 2 wallets, a key case, and (my favorite) 2" wide thick black leather belt crafted by them. Their gear is best-in-class, retains high resale value and, with care, will last for ages.

Well I am gay and I am proud of that icon_smile.gif and I love to be different and to do my own thing icon_smile.gif And I have always had a passion for big wide belts.....2.25" police belt standard with my jeans or army pants icon_smile.gif but looking for something slightly wider.....
Does anybody of you have belts that are 2.5"wide or more??

I think wide belts are awful; I usually only wear my skinny belt.

    Try a search on "Kilt Belts." These run 1 3/4" - 2 1/2" wide.

I finally found a very wide and heavy leather belt icon_smile.gif This belt is 2 3/4" (6cm) wide, 1/4" (6mm) thick and weighs even 1 1/2 lbs. Even wider than my police belt.
It just still fits in the belt loops of my jeans. A bit kinky and gay...but I like it icon_smile.gif
