Not sure why but I really don't like to smile in pictures. I always look at pictures where I'm smiling and think I look stupid in them. Anyone else?

I hate the way I look when I smile. Doesn't matter if others say I look fine, I still feel like I look stupid.

I'm one of those people who are always smiling. Don't hate on me icon_sad.gif

Is it okay if it makes others smile? icon_biggrin.gif

You're lucky. Smiling people have an instant added level of attraction and approachability. I wish I smiled more naturally. When someone takes a picture of me and asks to see teeth, it feels completely awkward when I even try.

People at the club actually stop me and tell me to smile.

    I'm too butch to smile.

Joking. I smile often though I hate seeing it in photos but I'm not the one looking at me in everyday life so that's okay. Usually I turn people off because I don't usually smile or laugh when I make a joke. Occasionally and only seldom do people get to know me enough to realize when I'm actually making a joke.

No, I usually like to smile... especially in pictures. When/if I'm not smiling people always ask me "what's wrong?" or "why so serious?". And there's nothing wrong, and I'm not serious, I just have nothing to say haha.

It has to be the moment. If you fake a smile, it just ruins the pic.

Sultry always work over a smile.

Though I'm told I have a great smile, unless I'm laughing, I hate smiling - it's an effort. Having met Julia Roberts, I suspect she's the same way.

I agree, the best pic on your profile is the one when you smiled. True, fake smiles do not do it, but do not resist as smiling is good for your health and the ambiance surrounding you. icon_smile.gif

I've been self-conscious about my smile since I chipped one of my front teeth in second grade.

I enjoy being happy and having fun, but the look on my face in pics usually comes across as just "pleasantly amused."icon_rolleyes.gif

    True!

Another way to capture a smile is to have the photographer say something outrageously funny or if you're in a group shot, tickle each other - that will garner a genuine smile!

I'm not the biggest on smiling either, but it doesn't mean I'm not happy though. It's all about personal preference.

I like smiling when I have something to smile about, but not on command for pictures.
