When someone asks you "Looking for some fun? or "Interested in some fun tonight?" how do you interpret this. In the recent few weeks, I've had three guys ask me this and each time I replied something like "Thanks, but I don't do the hook up thing. Good luck finding what you're looking for."

And the last three times, the guys have replied that they didn't mean hooking up, they just meant going out and doing something, etc. So I was wondering what other people thought. I honestly have always interpreted a stranger on the internet asking me if I wanted to have some fun as a hook up thing. Am I wrong, or are these guys just trying to save face by backtracking?

well, i guess part of it depends on where you are 'meeting' these guys.

if its on certain online sites *cough* a4a, mh, dn *cough* then there's nothing wrong with assuming that these guys are looking to hook up. and it would seem as if they were just backtracking to save face.

if its on some other site *cough* ___drawing a blank___ *cough* then maybe they really do just want to go out and hang.

anyways, i dont think you were wrong in your assumption. thats like, the gay slogan for 'hey, lets f@#$'

If I find him hot, I interpret it as having potential for a sexy fun evening.
If I don't find him hot, I interpret it as an excuse to click the delete button.

Your assumption is right. You're looking for some ... FUN = SEX no matter how you interpret it. What they should have done is ask you about your interest, hobbies, or other fun activities.

"Fun" is just a misnomer nowadays due to its notoriety in sexual lingo. Ignore if they meant hookup, unless they're actually "f*ckin' s*xxxay"

Fun=Sex unless its a friend or someone you know then it could mean anything. Usually if a guy ask I ask what he means and goes from there. I'm not a fan of hooking up but hell it happens from time to time fine, if the guy is not interested in doing it again his loss. Have found that many of my friendship relationships started with sex and developed into more with sex on the side every now and then....so who knows one type of fun may later turn into another.

If it's not an invitation for sex, I'd think they were a drug dealer. icon_rolleyes.gif

That's why you always ask... "what do you mean?"

    Some people will say: Sex.

Others will say: Coffee, movies etc...

    not that hard icon_smile.gif

tghey use it to see what they get out of you. iif you say you don't want to hookup, they can use it at a cop out and say they just mean hanging out. its retarded as so transparent.

they are probably trying to save face. dude, if a guy says he is looking for fun they are not talking about doing something outside of the bedroom. but i could be wrong but almost 99.9% i am not
