Are your gay friend intimidated by your fitness success? Are they threatened by the attention you receive? Or are others in general intimidated by your image?

I find it at times that my friends will try to compete with me....
The only person i compete with is myself!!!!
Why are people threatened by muscled guys?? Is it because we can be intimidating? Sometimes muscle is a blessing but at times it's like a double edge sword were people either love u or hate u. You become an easy target for others to show dislike or even hatred...
I say keep it real, love yourself for who u are. If you see someone who has the fitness goal u wish to achieve allow that energy to fuel you. And get your ass to the gym! Give credit where its due! Jealousy and unhealthy competition is just plain ugly.
    All the best!

Back off man. It's not his fault that his dad invented Toaster Strudel.

I work out to be fit and happy. I'm not at the gym for social hour. So a lot of the gay guys in Mpls aren't too keen on guys like me who are fitness freaks. The guys I do talk to at the gym are straight guys.

But your body is lean and fit, that's not something to overlook icon_biggrin.gif

    no.
i used to be heavier so they know it is work.
i don't dress to present any of that work.
my reason for fitness is internal.

i've run into the other extreme though, guys who are imprisoned in their own muscles because people assume things about them. but that's true of all body types, people often make uninformed assumptions

I like to think of myself and others as inspiration.

Though long ago I had one chubby friend who would say the silliest things like, "I could never take my shirt off around you", "you are so lucky...", and all this crap whenever we happened to be at the beach or at the club. He was really good looking though and if he toned up, he would've been Mr. Model 2009. Instead he seemed to resent me which I confronted him about (which he did not take well) and I offered to work out with him.

Now he gets more guys than I do ;)

I don't think I intimidate others, it may be the stupid grin I plaster across my face at any given time.

I hardly think that people in general, are intimidated by my physical body shape; people will say that I would blow away if a strong wind came by, since I'm so skinny.

However, people in general, have also said that they are somewhat intimidated of me, due to my stature. I've never really thought of myself being as tall as I am; always thought my height was average height.
