I maintain a trim beard pretty much year round. I am often told that without it I look like a baby. If I were to go on an interview, should I shave the beard or keep my look representative of my day to day appearance. I work in an office environment now, wearing a suit everyday and the beard is well received. What do you think?

How old are you and what kind of position are you applying for?

As one who interviews people a lot, I wouldn't mind a beard so long as it's neatly trimmed and there's evidence that you trimmed it that morning (for the occasion).

Of course, your suit/tie is a must.

So long as you covered all the bases to look good, meaning you want to make a quality impression on me, then appearance gets an easy A+.

(Now, if you wear a tight shirt that allows some pec bulge to be visible, be sure you wear something hot underneath. j/k)

I shave when I fucking feel like it... part of the freedom of being a man... Fuck if I will let anyone dictate my motivation to "impress" society. I am as raw a man as it gets!!! And FUCK smell by the way... That's for fucking women to decide and if a man tells me I need to take a shower I tell him to take a fucking hike in the rain cause they STINK too!!!!

I debated this a few weeks ago, and kept my close beard, with neck/cheeks tidied up with razor - I work for a UK company that is smart casual dress-code, and it seemed to go well

Keep it, as long as it is appropriate for the culture of that workplace in which you are applying. Scruffy=Sexy.

    Goddamn you're cute.

Okay- with that said- I would highly recommend shaving because you have the same type of beard as me, and it would make you look a tinge on the awkward "way too casual for work" side. Plus, a lot of places surprisingly prohibit the growth of a beard.

Goddamn it, newb, way to resurrect a thread from a year ago.

None of the above. Go with a mustache, you'll get any job you apply for.
