Hey guys, I was wondering about British law for the lineage for the throne.
Say i were to seduce prince harry and manage to marry him. then prince harry and his bride was transported to another dimension (with no heirs) and the queen were to pass away bcuz she was so upset about her grandson disappearing. Could i be in line to become queen of england?

    lol

(im sorry i just am tired of being emo and wanted to have some fun icon_smile.gif

but seriously could that happen? I might just aim to be empress of japan icon_razz.gif

It depends on which dimension you transport to.
If you transport to the anti-matter dimension, yes you can become queen, but no one will notice you.
If you transport to an "alternate bubble universe" dimension, Prince Harry will kill you just for kicks and giggles.
If you transport to the parallel membrane dimension, you will not become queen unless you can figure out how to wormhole between the two membranes without having them come in contact with each other, because that would create another explosion on the scale of the big bang.

So...if I were you, I'd steer clear of other dimensions. icon_biggrin.gif

um, no... charles is first in line to the throne, then william... then there are about a billion other royals in line... even if they all died out, you'd not be legally married to harry in the eyes of the church of england... therefore the lineage would die out and there would be no king/queen of england....

Harry is NOT Charles' son. So he won't ever be on the throne and you won't ever be queen ... of England.

Actually it's Prince Charles, not Harry, who is in line for the throne - IF he outlive the Queen (she refuses to abdicate).
If the Queen outlive Charles, the throne will go to William (the one who is marrying Kate next month).
The throne will only go to Harry if anything happens to William. Else it will go to Prince Andrew, the Queen's second son.....

Unless the Republicans have their way, and there is evidence that this movement is growing, although even they are happy to see the Queen finish her reign naturally (i.e. till death).

But it looks to me that the Firm will be here to stay. The majority of the English are Royalists.

It won't go to Harry if Parliment demands a blood test. Harry looks nothing like a Windsor, and every bit like Diana's aide.

Even if you were to marry Harry and he would succeed to the throne, it would not make you Queen. There is only one King or Queen at any given time. Their spouse has some other title of nobility. Which brings up another thing: you'd have to give up your US citizenship (assuming that's what you are) as no US citizen is allowed to hold a title of nobility.

    Ah, this is interesting.

"Under British law, a child born to a married woman is assumed to be the child of her husband"

I wonder if anyone would challenge Harry's paternity if something happened to Charles and William.

no, the wife of the hereditary king is the queen. But the husband of the hereditary queen isn't king. Eluzabeth II's mother was Queen Elizabeth.

Well let's see,, since Elizabeth II is the reigning Queen of Canada which in itself is NOT the same position as the Queen of England and since same-sex marriage is legal in Canada and it is not in Britain (civil-unions only) then maybe.......lol

The throne passes through blood, not marriage. If you are born into the crown, you are a regnant and if you marry into the crown you are a consort. Although normally regnant and consort are not used in official titles.

Assuming you could, if you married Prince Harry, you would be a prince consort and would never inherent the crown. So if Prince (consort) Philip, Queen (regnant) Elizabeth's husband, out lives the Queen, he would become a prince dowager and the crown would pass to his son Prince Charles, who would gain the title King (Regnant) Charles. Normally his wife would become Queen (Consort), but I think because of the divorce her official title will be Princess Consort.

But a consort queen could become Queen Regent if the King was indisposed, or the heir was still a minor. Of course, Parliament would have to approve it.

Bloodline comes first. You have a lot of people to trans-dimensional-ize if you want the throne.

Japan you would be able to successfully ascend to the throne through marriage.

I don't think any of us will see an American near the throne. We'll let the royals mary their european cousins but an American?...well that's just not cricket!
