    ;)

Yes sirree. The sun, the sand, the intense Cuban music.
But in all seriousness, the eye candy gets old fast and if you live here for years on end, you'll come to know that. Hunks are a dime a dozen, long term relationships are difficult to weed through and find. We're a culture where you are motivated to work out just for the sheer fact that Mr. Mens Magazine and Mrs. Sports Illustrated are taking a jog down the street.

I consider NYC and Austin to have a good number of hot guys too icon_surprised.gif

i dunno about miami, but i was quite impressed with the attractive guys in tampa, FL.

something about the mix of doner DNA in that area...white, black, latino, european.....i imagine miami is even more potent.

Yea, tons of hot guys in SoBe--tons of hot, vacuous, unemployed, shallow, good-for-a-quick-fuck, model-wanna-be boys. It gets old very quickly.

And if you move away for a few weeks or months, your appreciation for the eye candy gets renewed.
This happens to me every summer when I work in Savannah...not a shred of eye candy there.

Haha, yes. But I think the 'look' just changes to each city and each one has their share of beautiful men. New York had those 6 ft + sculpted models from the runway and Armani ads, Venice...oh don't get me started on those men, I wake up in a sweat when I think of Italians... ANYWAYS, I just tend to readjust my tastes to the setting (some settings don't have many cute guys though...)

It's also full of people who've been calling and texting over the past few weeks asking when I'm scheduled to be back this year...so it ain't really all that bad. I just make it sound that way so I can keep the small group of hotties all to myself. icon_biggrin.gif

SoBe has tons of incredibly hot guys. But you should also
Know that most of them are model-wannabes, escorts, sex and drug addicts, etc etc.

Never in my life saw so many trainwrecks, guys passing out on the dancefloor or outside the clubs in a g-hole, all kinds of ODs, BJs or sometimes actual fucking on the dancefloor, arrogant assholes, and blatant racism (I was called a Chinaman a couple times, not in a hurtful way but insensitive nonetheless).

It's like a big ol' circuit party all year around.

Sometimes I regret not taking more advantage of all that while I was living there. But if I'm mostly glad I didn't cuz I'd probably be poz if I did.

I always say, you know how people say LA is shallow? SoBe is what people preceive LA to be x10. I find WeHo quite laid back and despite all the circuit guys, there's still plenty of variety outside of that scene. In SoBe, it's basically just that one scene.

pretty much agree, eye candy is always nice to look at, but finding a quality guy is hard to come by.

but there are two different miami's. there is the miami i grew up in (the mainland), and then there is south beach (place to go party and have fun).

greater miami (City of Miami and other municipalities) is made up of people, mostly latin decent, who have made miami there home. and then there is south beach (City of Miami Beach) which is the miami most people have come to know on TV and the movies. It is more transitional, people from all over the world, Latin America, Europe and the good old USA, who really are not planning to stay forever here. (the ones that do, usually end up moving to the mainland, where the partying drops down a couple of notches.

truth be told - the guys are hot in NY, arizona, brazil. you name it, RJ and this thread is proof of that.

I know its bad but its not THAT bad. icon_neutral.gif Miami has more to it than just the party scene.

Share the wealth and send some hot guys up here to Seattle. Hell, send some of Miami's "average" looking guys up here...I'm sure they'd look a lot better than the average Seattle-ite. >_

That's funny, you dissed it before in a post and now you're defending it. LOL

It was REALLY REALLY hard to meet people outside of the party scene. The gay scene there seemed to revolved around it and it was all too easy to get sucked into it.

Like I said, I never seen so many trainwrecks before, and I honestly was scarred for a long time. But that was just my experiences. Hope yours is better.

On the up side, I did have some of the hottest hookups, and being an electronic music lover, it was the best music scene I've been around.

You made us sound like a pithole of degrading hedonism and disease. I just commented on the fact that relationships are harder to find. You totally ripped Miami apart from the whole poz thing to trainwrecks, which I have seen only in small concentrated amounts.

Not really, my last boyrfriend was an art curator. SoBe is a pretty big party scene but outside of it, into the greater Miami area, it is really rich in culture and people. I've had great experiences in Miami, hence why I live here. icon_lol.gif

Sorry if you were offended. Well I'm only speaking from my experiences. I did happen to live on SoBe for a while, so I was basically at the epic center of what you consider a small concreted amounts. lol

As far as culture goes, I do have to say I enjoyed it. I do miss the latino culture, salsa dancing everywhere, and latino music all over the radio. And of course the sunshine.
