    Hi guys,

So this time I'm trying to find a new roommate to share the room with me. I posted on Craiglist but my post got lost on the March 29 ... and it doesnt let me repost.

Is there anywhere else I can go and look for a roommate?

Appreciate the help ... thanks !!!

I have friends who would put as a status message on facebook that they were looking for roommates for school. Usually they'd have a few replies from people on their friends list. Sometimes one of their friends would mention they have a friend who's also looking for a roommate.

I found my roommate on Craigslist.

If you are gonna do it just practice common sense, really.

The deal I got is good too, 750 a month to live right in the middle of the city.

Plus, unfortunately, he got hit by a car so he is in the hospital right now and I got the room to myself for the next couple of months, so Craigslist isnt that bad.

Here in Los Angeles we have a gay magazine called Frontiers. I placed an advertisement in it for a roommate and this cute guy showed up. He became a roommate and bf but was majorly in the closet and was working at Whole Foods and he was in a Christian rock band. Needless to say it didn't work out and he moved out because he didn't think he was gay. Flash forwar a year or two later. I see him singing on a float in the Pride Parade. I catch up with him later and ask him how he's doing and what he's been up to,. He keeps glancing down at his shirt which read PORN STAR. Finally, I catch on and say "what? You're a porn star?" and he replies yes. His porn name was Zach Richards. He even did a porn called Auditions that sound very much like how we met through a roommate ad. So my story advice to you is be careful because you never know what you'll get when advertising for a roommate. I hope you have better luck.

You are right...I am being harsh...but do your due diligence on anyone before you let them move into your home....no matter what the source. I rented a 2BR/1BA from a nightmare landlady (from Clist) when I lived in Washington DC a few years ago and it left a bad taste in my mouth lol.

You should be able to repost on craig's list if you alter the original post a bit- i.e. don't just copy the old one verbatim-

I wouldnt say you are being harsh, its just about practicing common sense. Craigslist is one of the venues to go to get a roommate, try different ones.

I tried other ones and didnt have luck, because I didnt want to pay for them.

Thank You guyss! ... I just don't feel like getting a weird stranger in my home and then there's this warn from Clist saying to be careful when receiving cashier checks and stuff because sometimes they're fake so to avoid scams lol

So basically I was being careful but wanted somewhere else to look for a roommate.

Thanks for your input guys! ....

Too bad you're on the South side of town. I'm going to be looking for a place to live up around Thousand Oaks in the next few weeks.
