Tonight, my 15 month old laptop (Dell Studio 1745) suddenly began to reboot itself from Windows 7 into Windows Safe Mode (while watching a YouTube video).

After the Safe Mode install, I restarted my laptop. Windows 7 rebooted fine. However, 5 minutes later, it shut down and rebooted into Safe Mode again.

    Anyone out there can help?

    Thanks!

Did it say or do anything or just restart? not much Info to go on, might b a hardware thing, if it was sittin on ur bed mighta overheated it, ventilation on laptops is generally really bad, normally Internet explorer will crash but not cause a reboot

The 6 year old XP laptop in the kitchen started going catatonic a couple weeks ago, and when I pulled the bottom cover off, I saw that the heat sink that the fan blows through was completely clogged with dust. A few minutes with the Dyson, and it was back to normal.

    thanks for your replies.

it appears adobe flayer player active x was the culprit.

uninstalled it - then reinstalled it. seems to be ok now.

    thx.
