Hey I was wondering where is the best place to put a tattoo. I mean I'm turning 20 soon, but my parents' don't approve of tattoos, plus she says if she sees it she won't let me into the house. So where is the best place to put one?

Well, either way you are taking a risk...

but if you want one that would decrease the chances of your mother finding out about it, I would say right below your obliques, but halfway above your knee cap.

So, if you are wearing boxers, or breifs, or wide undies, you would not get noticed... of course, make sure they are dark undies etc... etc...

BUT if you are looking for a hot place to put it, well, that is subjective, but I would say right on your chest or top right of your back coming over across your right shoulder/right arm.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidWait until after you get out of the house. Take your time and do not let factors like contingent homelessness as a result of getting a tattoo skew what type of tattoo you get and where you will have it on your body.

    Exactly.

it depends on the tattoo ... if you're dead-set on getting a sleeve design, I wouldn't advise getting it on your bum.

In a place you can always cover it up..
I love tatt's but society does not..

It took me 48 years to come up with a tattoo that I wanted and knew the meaning of.

    <a href=/www.flickr.com/photos/23701037@N04/5586032366/" title="IMAG0019 by jm_dnld, on Flickr">IMAG0019">

An ancient creature embraced by many cultures, the Celtic animal griffin is a symbol of duality. Part eagle and half-part lion (depending on the region – even part serpent, horse or dog), the meaning of the griffin reflects is dual physical form by presenting a balance of both good and not so good qualities. The griffin's more likeable qualities include nobility, gentleness, and justice. Depicted on ancient stone tombs, griffins are the guardians and protectors of life, and remain loyal in their protection even in the afterlife. Griffins count nobility, vigilance, virtue and strength among their many positive attributes. The griffin is an incredibly strong symbol, and used only when the mightiest gods' attention needs to be captured, and reserved only when the need is greatest. Misused, or invoked for selfish reasons, the griffin brings about gluttony, vengeance, ferocity, and violence. In Roman texts, the Griffin is strongly aligned with the fire god, Apollo. This makes the griffin a possessor of fiery forces – and not to be trifled with when in partnership with Apollo. Given it's power, and considering it can be just as nefarious as it can be kind, respect must be paid when invoking the spirit of the griffin.

Hey all parents say the same thing!
It's your body, so think about it for a long time before you do something,
If you plan on a professional job, I would not put it visible on the body when you are dressed.

So on the leg or calf seems to be a hot place..

AND choose a design with meaning of your life.

I stand with the WAIT crowd.

There is no sense in upsetting your mom. If you feel, at 20, that you need to declare yourself, then do it by being the best son you can be and taking your time on a decision that is permanent. It isn't just the mom thing, it is the I'm in a hurry thing. Why?

if you have to ask strangers on the internet what you should do with your body then you arent ready to do whatever it is you want to do with your body.

Not really...I mean I just want to know a good place to put it that doesn't mean I'm not ready to get a tattoo.

i personally like back tattoos and 1/4 sleeve to half sleeve tattoos. i have one on my upper back. you can see a pic of it on my profile. tattoos on the side of the torso can also be bretty cool and all those options (appart from the half sleeve) are extremely easy to hide

So wait, do you not even have a design already set up?

A garden hose going down your leg would be easy to hide, and would look badass. Garden hoses fucking rock.

There's nothing wrong with tattoos as long as they are tasteful and in a place that you won't feel ashamed of.

Ask yourself do you really need a tattoo?
