I have what I think is a fungus on one of my big toes, makes the nail yellow & crumbly. I've been anointing it with vinegar solution for the past couple of months (as recommended by online homeopathy sites), doesn't seem to make much difference. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to deal with this?

It's particularly disconcerting for me because my feet are an important part of my overall sensual being, the bf & I do a fair amount of foot play in addition to other kinds of play. The visuals on my toe are less than wonderful at the moment, not to mention the vinegar...so it's interfering with the choreography.

    Fluconazole.

Use it, it works ! Forget the vinegar.

    Accck yeeeech-doh

my Mom had a friend with a big toenail like yours and over time the podiatrist just pulled her big toenails off. As she aged they got too thick and hard to cut. I saw them and now they are just closing up-bet your b/f doesn't put that toe in his mouth..acck again.

I read tea tree oil is a natural anti fungal but toenail is hard to get rid of I gooogled it for her some yrs back.

It happens. I started having this problem when I was a teenager. My mom taught me to put some alcohol on a cotton ball or pad and apply on my toenails after my shower. It's been fine for me after these years.

You should get treatment for that, it can take a while to get rid of them so the sooner the better

Most fungal infections are actually fairly easy to get rid of with over-the-counter remedies. Infections of the nails, however, can be more difficult so you might want to see a doctor to get a prescription medicine.

That was enough, the rest was TMI lol... I heard vinegar too, Im guessing because it does kill stuff (thats why its so acid-y.. the fermentation process goes on until the yeast kills itself due to acidity in wine, and then vinegar is concentrated acid)...
