Perhaps lunacy does lose its appeal:

He was popular with ultraconservative Tea Party activists and drew thousands of people to the National Mall in Washington last August for a "restoring honor" rally.

Yet some of his statements were getting him in trouble, and critics appealed to advertisers to boycott his show last summer after Beck said President Barack Obama had "a deep-seated hatred for white people."

More than 400 Fox advertisers told the company they did not want their commercials on Beck's show.

Viewers also began turning away. Beck's 5 p.m. ET show averaged 2.7 million viewers during the first three months of 2010, and was at just under 2 million for the same period this year, the Nielsen Co. said. His decline was sharper among younger viewers sought by advertisers.

Increasingly, the show began to be dominated by Beck standing in front of a chalk board giving his theories about the world's troubles.

Not very surprising. Beck is rather polarizing at times.

    According to this:
    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20051343-503544.html

... Beck's contract lapses this year and he is not likely to seek renewal.

He may seek to form his own cable network or take over an existing network much lime Oprah has with her OWN channel.

This just more proof of the fading appeal of the dying "Tea Party" "movement".

As soon as the public gets sick of listening to one Chicken Little, the Republicans trot out a new one.

Rush Limbagh used to be the Republican attack dog, spreading irrational fear, lies, and hate speech.

    Then, it was Ann Coulter.

    Then, it was Glenn Beck.

They'll just replace him with a new and different big mouth liar.

Hey, Southbeach, there's a job for you !

Really? I'm surprised to hear this from you. I thought in the past you quoted him. So Glenn Beck's views were never your own?

I just read that Beck's program was 'personally' responsible for the loss of about 300 advertisers during his program time slot.

I've watched his program from time to time and am amazed at the fear mongering he does and with all the acting he puts into his 'show', I am amazed that so many people are duped by this ex/recovering alcoholic. He has all the 'symptoms' of being a Jim Jones type leader, loving every minute of the spotlight. I hope he fades away, but I doubt it unless his self adulation causes him to go even farther out on his 'limbs', than he has to date. Maybe then his followers may see him for what he is, nothing but a showman full of hot air.

Oh, I've made it abundantly clear here in copious amounts that I am not a fan of Glenn Beck, despite certain fantasies entertained by some.

A typically hilarious Stephen Colbert lampooning of Beck, plus he gets in some swipes at the rest of the FOX "News" team, and one on CNN whom I detest.

    Yes, FIRED!

Losing 30% of your audience in a matter of months is not a tv program you keep on the air.
