Yes - both songs that make me sad because of the association and ones that make me happy. "Smile" by Uncle Kracker makes me think of one friend in particular; "That Particular Time" by Alanis Morissette (sp?) is one I still can't listen to.

Yes, I have a certain song associated with each of my ex's. Whenever I hear the song it usually brings back a few fond memories. icon_wink.gif

I associate certain songs to specific events or places, and the people that were there.
I don't associate a song with a person, per se.

I most certainly do !! Music has always held an important place in my life and many a song I hear takes me as far back as riding my bike with friends with my radio on my handle bars, singing along with a John Denver song, or taking Eilene for a ride while listening to CCR's "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog", between our going in and out of old abandoned houses, or some memory of being with my brothers and listening to the Hotel California song, Theres a song "Hitching a ride" I hear that reminds me of hitchhiking with my buds after backpacking for 3 days. In fact theres few songs that don't bring back a memory, some sad, but mostly happy memories. Music is great !!!!

I actually associate a song with everyone I meet and become friends with. A couple of months ago I even messaged almost everyone on my friends list on fb and told them what their song was. I think I messaged over 500 people. Each person has their story, so why not a song?

Yes, I do. And not necessarily with people, but with moments (specific or large) of my life, with jobs or projects, etc.

It's usually one song that marks my mind in the moment I'm going through the emotion. Words that described how I felt, or just a song that I used to listen repeatedly at that moment.

I think everybody goes through this !

Yes, there is one 'Passion Pit' song that this guy, who grosses me out now, told me he had sex to that song. Now everytime I hear it I get grossed out and change it. What truly sucks is I really liked that song, so now I despise him even more..... don't mess with my music

Then you should phrase the OP: "Post if you do blah blah blah"
    "No." is a valid answer.

Anyway. Yes. Though I don't get sad anymore, not generally anyway.

Less so than before, but a few songs.
Ice by Sarah McLachlan in particular. Reminds me of my first bf. I remember seeing the lyrics in one of his away messages (ah, ye old days of aim icon_smile.gif ). I was a bit disappointed that he hadn't written them, but it's a very nice song (though history biases me), and it, in a number of ways, is evocative of him. ...and also probably that era of my life.

Tangled Up in Blue was a favorite (I believe The favorite) song of my ex-gf, whom I dated for ~3 years and was very close to.
Santa Monica reminds me of someone that would be hard to describe (not a relationship, though, at least semi-abstractly, he touched me in a way). In an Aeroplane Over the Sea reminds me of a very short relationship with a really great guy that I wish I could have become more involved with (I'm pretty sure we both do - I hope so anyway icon_smile.gif ). It was already a favorite song of mine and was the first indicator that he had really good taste in music! =) I still get playlists he puts together (so I guess a lot of songs are associated with him to some degree).

...The GhostBusters theme song reminds me of me as a kid ... and indirectly me now as well I guess. I think that counts. icon_biggrin.gif ...and maybe Calvin and Hobbes, I could see them boogie-ing to that!

    I LOVE DOING THAT!
I usually put different ringtones for people on my phone based on a song that reminds me of them icon_smile.gif
