Mineral Point, Wisconsin will celebrate the 175th Anniversary (yep - "dodransbicentennial") of the inauguration of Henry Dodge as the first governor of the Territory of Wisconsin (July 4, 1836). Come for a fantastic parade on July 4th, 2011. The territory covered a huge portion of land, including what is now Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and parts of both Dakotas. Let's get the whole territorial family out for this party!! www.MineralPoint.com

Will this parade have shirtless muscle boys, leather men with their bare asses sticking out of chaps, dykes on bikes, and drag queens?

...too bad this doesn't include the original southern border of Wisconsin...which was 60 miles south of the current location and contained the city of Chicago...now that might be a party!

The gays love Mineral Point, WI. Very artsy and antiquey. Back in the day it was filled with rough and tumble Welsh miners. Maybe they can recreate that scene but without the dirt. Wisconsin got the nickname "The Badger State" because of these miners and their skill at digging, not because we have loads of badgers.

Probably lots of strapping farm boys. Many people think our women look like dykes. Does that count?

...if I wasn't raised with Wisconsin values, I would want to disinvite Caslon for that comment...

...but I was raised a proper badger...

...I vote you get "clean up" duty after the party...
