I've always been pretty carb sensitive - which sucks cause I'm Italian and LOVE pizza and pasta. I'm starting to work on a low GI diet and cutting out my precious bread. I wondered f anyone else had issues with insulin resistance and how they deal with it.

Are you insulin resistant or just think you are?

If you are for sure, then work with the doctor and a nutritionist and exercise to keep weight down and metabolism up.

If you are pre-diabetic, there is a chance you can avoid or at least forestall diabetes. It is worth it!

Diabetes affects the small blood vessels and you have circulation problems, healing problems, vision problems, depression, risk of heart and kidney complications....

Presently my insulin, at retail, costs about $1300 per month in addition to syringes, test strips, pills and doctor visits. Avoid this if you can.

I'm opting for early prevention regardless. A change in diet and exercise can help with both conditions, Pre-diabetes is not good. Hopefully I can control some of this, but i agree a doctor is the right direction
