I haven't found a thread like this, but I think the topic is interesting. Do any of you watch paranormal TV shows?
I have watched paranormal shows because they are entertaining and enjoyable. I have never had a paranormal experience, but I'm agnostic/neutral about believing that paranormal phenomena exists, especially ghosts and hauntings. There is still insufficient scientific evidence proving them, but it doesn't mean that they are impossible. After all, we don't know everything.

My favorite paranormal show is the ghost-hunting series Ghost Adventures, which premiered on October 17, 2008 on the Travel Channel. It is well-edited, artistic, and entertaining. The "evidence" captured is interesting but questionable. There are many ways to fake the phenomena, but I'm not accusing them of being guilty. The host Zak Bagans may act like a douche sometimes, but many viewers like his passion.

    Related Topic (FYI):
James Randi (born 7 August 1928 ), aka The Amazing Randi, is a Canadian-American magician and scientific skeptic on paranormal claims. He came out on 21 March 2010. He is one of the oldest famous gay people I know.

Many scientists believe that different planes of existence operate within the same given space. So I find it quite plausible that "spirits" exist....fading in and out of our plane.

Yeah I read that about somewhere, also that spirits might exist in a different dimension than we live in. Like the "4th" dimension or something which explains why we cant grasp them since they are on a different environment parallel to our environment.

These paranormal investigators on these shows are the biggest pussies I've ever seen. "What was THAT!!!!?"

And seriously, why presume that ghosts only appear in the dark? Every show I've ever seen uses these stupid fucking infrared cameras at night. Really? A being that has the energy to "jump planes" lacks the ability to be perceived in daylight?

My guess is that since they normally appear light in color, that you wouldn't be able to see them in the daylight as well?

Uh, "normally appear"? No one has ever photographed or filmed a ghost, so what would make you say "normally appear"?

These ghosts might rarely appear. Countless photos and videos of potentially real ghosts are captured worldwide, many on that show, although these documents are not adequate scientific evidence proving that ghosts exist.

A website dedicated to these kinds of visual "evidence": http://angelsghosts.com/
Here are some of the best visual "evidence" captured on Ghost Adventures.

I'm not advocating their existence nor their non-existence. I'm just saying that the videos I've seen of "potential" spirits have normally been very light in shade. There are hundreds of videos and photos of unidentified objects which people claim to be spirits, and that is what I meant by "normally appear."

I like the one on Animal Planet called "The Haunted." Paranormal activity often detected first by pets. Then there's "My Ghost Story" with people sharing their experiences.

I'd love to walk throughout an abandoned hospital or prison or mental ward. Anyone? Can you imagine an RJ ghost hunter group? "Eek, squeal. OMG! Dude, I'm out of here!" Or, maybe we'd be tougher than Zak.

    Sometimes these shows are fun

    Ghosthunters I like
but a lot of them are pretty huckster-ish
    and grate on my nerves

I have had some real paranormal events happen in my life and
I can usually tell what's real or not

    Orbs? Yeah right icon_rolleyes.gif
