Commodore International is planning on selling a completely revitalized Commodore 64 with no new cosmetic updates, however, the guts of the machine have been updated to todays computing standards.

I for one am a bit excited (better non-word would be geeking out) about this, When I was younger my dad had one of these that he would "sometimes" let me play and tinker on. I'm thinking of getting one, but I wanted to see what you other guys think of this move. Wise or Bad decision... Check the pictures and link below...

So basically, they shoved a mini-ITX motherboard in an old C64 case. icon_lol.gif

yourname2000 saidHilarious! It's got USB, HDMI and DVI.

    Great piece of nostalga.

My first computer was actually a VIC20 and I friggin loved programming basic on that thing when I was 14...jeez, that's 30 years ago!

The 64 had amazing graphics for the time, as I recall...first time I had seen sprites, which were a lot more versatile than reprogramming characters and plotting them.

    Anyway, looks like fun.

I remember programming on basic too but I was too young to comprehend what I was doing at the time. I'm kinda itching to run an emulator and see what I can do now that I know a bit more but....were light years past the basic days.

It is a pretty awesome package, the OS is going to be linux which makes it even more customizable.

It the revamped 64 may have a nice niche following after all.

Wow. I had one of those. icon_redface.gif I used to make budgets on it for my allowance. Oh and endless hours of Pong.

    That's great!
Now let's see if they will do the same to the Sinclair ZX81 and the Sinclair Spectrum...
