I think this one was a lot better than "The Butch Factor". It brought up a lot of good points and they got perspectives from many different types of guys.

The West Hollywood guys calling each other fat was a bit ridiculous though, the sad part is they almost seem proud for doing so as if its what they're supposed to do as gay men

Just another futile attempt at self-aggrandizement. The interviewees were so transparently self-promoting. I laughed so hard when one of the supposedly "butch" guys said he's the epitome of masculinity, yet it was so obvious that he was trying to butch up his voice and trying to act hypermasculine (he failed at both).

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidFive minutes was all I could take. I am not willing to invest forty-one minutes into that video. Just a bunch of puffy watery and bloated gay men who hem and haw if they are not receiving attention for their body and getting enough casual sex. I did not find this video interesting at all.

    yeh-u-rite!

i paused and skipped thru it, sampling randon passages...IMO not worth watching all the way thru.

So true. I don't know whether to be 'meh' about this or actually be concerned about how this affects other gay men

Very good program indeed. At the least the guys were honest... I guess? But this was kind of depressing to watch. :/

It really isn't a good documentary. And most of the people being interviewed are vomit inducing.

I agree. They are all a major turn off!

This is not endemic to gay men only but American culture as a whole.

I never associated with those bitchy type guys who are so mean like that. In my opinion boys(not men) who are mean like that think they are be witty and cool, but it's such a huge turn off. I am responding to the west Hollywood boys. It's that Mean Girls click in high school mentality.

here in my gayborhood of marigny-bywater (new orleans, LA), many of the men are wayyyy past "the age of consent".

perhaps because of the Fantastic Food, 24/7 open bars and often middle aged of the residents; a little bit of stomach/sag is not a reason for persecution.

yet another reason why i live in the gayest gayborhood of one of the great gay-friendly citys of our country.

The beginning isn't as good as the ending where it talks about gay men aging and it's effects on them, I found that more interesting that the bitches who sat on the couch talking about making fun of ppl who wore larger sizes.

How do you make a judgment from only watching 5 minutes? If you watched the whole thing you would have seen they didn't just interview muscle boys, they interviewed twinkie guys from San Fran/West Hollywood, an androgynous guy, bears, older guys, and this super cute couple at the end.

    "Image is everything."

That might as well be the slogan for the gay community. Hell, it can be the slogan for America as a whole.

Indeed intriguing. I liked the commentary from differing gays and how they relate and their own perceptions. It definitely makes you think....

    Thanks for sharing this.

And people ask why do I always hang out with straight people! That's why, see the thing about a sub-culture is that you don't have to participate. You don't have to subject yourself to this altered state of reality. The whole "perfect body" "a-gays" thing is like voodoo, it only has power if you lend it power. Why don't more people understand this rather than subject themselves to the opinions and judgements of others. Jesus Christ almighty, get it together gays
