Anyone ever ordered anything from a brand called Rufskin?

    http://www.rufskin.com

Some of the clothes are a bit 'out there' and not something you would ever wear in public (aside from maybe at a circuit party!) but some of the t-shirts, tanks, underwear and swimwear looks cool.

Anyone know what they are like in terms of ordering outside the US? I am having a nightmare with another US-based company that I ordered from on the 3rd March and STILL haven't received what I've ordered (and oh yes they've taken the payment of course) and they are also very poor at communicating and responding to my e-mails so it's somewhat put me off from ordering things from US sites.

I like some Rufskin stuff. Never bought on-line but do have some jeans I bought at a local store. Definitely made to show off a hot body. I see a lot on the gay cruises.

cold saidMost of it looks a bit trashy. What did you order?

The trashiest sluttiest things I could find obviously! icon_cool.gif

Not really. The things I wanted were all out of stock :-(

So I'm from Cape Cod, therefore SUPER preppy by nature... however I've been tempted to try Rufskin on occasion (as opposed to the usual True Religion, Seven, and Rock and Republic jeans Diet...)

I've got decent sized thighs and a good ass (I'm a rower.. it comes with the spandex!) for somebody my overall size, so often have a hard time finding bootcut jeans that are FITTED, not baggy that actually show off the fact that I've got a nice badunkadunk.. Rufskin looks like a brand which might do just that. I'm tempted to try the Thiago's at the moment, in either white or turquoise (like I said.. I'm preppy!)

Anyway, I'm interested to see what people's views of the brand are as well! Do they run tight/small etc?

    thanks!

There stuff is ok. I bought some leather from them. Just be sure to TRY EVERYTHING ON! A lot of their briefs are cut "bikini" style which don't work as well for my body as other cuts, and for the prices they charge, you want to make sure it's gonna make you look amazing.

That's a good general rule, btw. TRY IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT! Just because something looks great on a model or a mannequin doesn't mean it looks good on you.

I went to the Rufskin site... it reminds me of a store we have here in Palm Springs called "GayMart". Overpriced crap NOT made in the U.S., trashy looking items no self-respecting MAN would be caught dead in.
Yeah, it's sexy, the models are sexy...but would you REALLY respect a man who wore this shit????

I like some of their stuff. I've bought some leather outfits and accessories from them--pricey but relatively good quality--much better than some of the leather peddlers around.

I agree, generally with clothing I try before I buy, but underwear and swimwear I don't and it's online (there's no UK store) so I can't try it on anyway.

Friendsarebetter - I agree some of the stuff is a bit trashy but that's all good fun in my opinion, people should wear whatever they feel comfortable in and feel they look good in. I don't really see what it's got to do with respect - if someone looks good and is confident about they wear, why wouldn't I respect them?

This is a joke right? Like The Onion, only instead of being fake news, it's a fake fashion website, so ridiculous it couldn't be real.....right? Ummm......right? Hello? Oh God, you're serious. *Sigh*

I'll never understand why so many gay men go out of their way to "look gay." This is the faggiest shit I've ever seen. I give up. Might as well go kidnap a straight guy, lock him in my basement and have my way with him because most gay men are heading in a direction that totally repulses me. Ackkk!

Yea I have to agree, it looks very 80's gay, trashy looking. And yes it does look like that Gaymart store in PS. But I think women who dress like this aren't very pretty either, you know the ones that look like drag queens, oh wait maybe they do shop there? icon_idea.gif

Yea it's a nasty look, I hope they aren't going back in time. Thank god I have my man. That look always scared me straight back deeper in the closet when I was coming out.

SOME of the stuff is super-gay I do agree, but what about:

    or

    http://www.rufskin.com/cart/baron.html

    I don't think they are uber-gay.

Good grief, boys. It's basically party costume, not day-to-day wear.

I do see guys that wear this out sometimes, and if this is party gear it's still nothing attractive about it. Maybe a twink could get away with it,cause their young and don't know better yet. A man in their 30's and up would not be attractive in party gear.

What's party gear anyhow? I wear what is casual out to a party unless is more dressy.

And yes I am judging on my behalf. There I said it.

Yes, a lot of the stuff is really outrageous, but they usually have a few pieces that I like.I don't have any of the see through stuff or revealing stuff I have some workout shorts that I really like from them. They are well made. I also have a couple pairs of underwear and tank tops for working out. It is so hard to find a well made pair of shorts that are not too long and have pockets. They fit well and they are snug enough around the thighs that they don't show anything when I'm working out and they are very comfortable. They don't feel cheap. These are perfect. icon_smile.gif

If a guy came up and hit on me while wearing a pair of jeans with a white lace up crotch, I'd be laughing too hard to turn him down. icon_lol.gif

I'm not sure if you're referring to "out" as in the grocery store or in the clubs.

Personally, I agree that most of the stuff, particularly the jeans, is over the top of taste. The sheer underwear is particularly hideous to my eye.

But this is just another form of drag, isn't it? I don't think the clothes are more outre than, say, leather chaps worn with a jockstrap or going to a club in a singlet.

Party gear is flashy getups worn to clubs, circuit parties, etc. You know, it's like gay Mardi Gras jeans.

Make no mistake.....this is NOT a "costume" to most of these guys. There are a couple of guys who workout at my gym who wear outfits like this and they're the laughing stock of the whole gym. Yes, even the gay guys are laughing. And even if this was meant only for parties, why on Earth would you want to look like a total fag at a party? It's basically just stereotyping gay men through fashion. Gay men who think this is attractive are like women who think this is attractive.......

It's unfortunate we still live in a world where people can't even go to a GYM to work OUT and be healthy without being laughed at... If they're happy and comfortable in themselves, then you should be comfortable enough to leave them alone. I have to wonder who the real fag is, in that situation.
