The GLBT community & friends are not the only ones protesting Target. Here is a new Flash Mob in support of Teamsters drivers attempting to organize truck drivers.

Yes really. This is exactly the kind of things you have advocated over and over, to let the market decide a business's conduct.

Remember? Businesses should be able to discriminate in any way they want and the market would decide? No regulations or human rights rules for business, right?
So here you have it, boycotting and protesting.

Isn't that the point though? Let the people do the regulation/boycotting/protesting, not government regulations. I don't understand how this isn't what Mock talks about...

From other things Mock has written he believes the free market will convince businesses from discriminating in their practices. For instance, it shouldn't be illegal for a bakery to refuse to sell to gay people, it should be the business owner's right. Instead, consumer reaction to their choices will persuade the owner to end his/her prejudices.

Unless that's not what you weren't understanding.

Hazardous, his ideology also included racial and other types of discrimination being permissible, like big nosed people.

I'd be the last person to defend everything Target does... But is there any evidence that the truck drivers are being treated poorly? Just because the teamsters want to organize the truck drivers doesn't automatically mean they aren't already well-compensated (and doesn't automatically warrant calling a company greedy either.)

And seriously, sometimes doing something flash-mob style doesn't make it more effective... If I hadn't known what the topic was about, watching those people in action would not have given me any clue what their cause was.
