I think its Seoul, South Korea.

I was there for few days....god I was shocked.

It's not that people were bad,

but they seemed really hate gay people.

Philly is the worst in North America......i was not out at the time.....got called "faggot" by strangers everyday.....i am a masculine guy, the folks have vinigar in their blood....seriously!

I have actually heard that about Philly. That is so sad!

Not to be Grammar Geek but I think you mean which city has the most homophobics.

I think Jamaica is surprisingly anti-gay and Uganda doesn't seem to be much better.

Perhaps a better thread would be which is the worst city to be gay and single? I'm voting for any city in Connecticut!

I have been to Philadelphia many times and the people there are very mean. Maybe it's the chain link underwear they are wearing........

I've been to Philly as well and I didn't encounter anything bad. Of course, every city has mean, homophobic people. Then again, I guess it depends on the neighborhood of the city.

Tirana in Albania must be the most backward place on Earth. Also, Moscow is not very friendly towards gay people. But, to my surprise, Istanbul, Turkey, was very, very friendly...

I had a great time in Seoul, met some great gay guys and the odd marine. Fun gay bars - even during the week when they were pretty empty - and I don't even like gay bars that much.

The only city that I have been really worried in was Xi'an in China, but I think that was mainly in my head. The local gays weren't worried about being openly gay.

Toledo , Ohio in my opinion. The town itself is pretty much empty of all life, and you have to drive at least three hours to experience anything cultural or eat anything not covered in gravy and deep fried... and you wont find a hot guy in toledo to save your life... but am actually sure they are some out there they jsut hide well

I would have thought Pyongyang in North Korea would have been worse?

Having grown up in a cornfield out west of Toledo, I would have to say that it was pretty awful. But the advantage to the US is our mobility compared with many other cultures. If one place is too repressive, there are other options out there where one will find a more welcoming community.

Anywhere in Uganda or Zimbabwe would be terrible (if not fatal), and places that adhere to Sharia law would be pretty bad as well. Most of the Balkans and former Soviet states (including Russia) are fairly hostile as well. Not planning any visits to those places anytime soon...

Seriously? Have you ever heard of Alma, Mi?? Head to Lansing, drive 45 minutes north through corn fields and you're there, surrounded in every direction by corn fields and cut off from the world in a town of 9000 people, 1500 being from the college here. A small, private, liberal arts college... enough said.

You have no idea what devoid of all life or uncultured is like if you Toledo is bad.

ok.... I'm thinking any city in the Middle East and Africa. Moscow and Vatican City are also bad destinations as well.

Alpha1 is right about the Middle east, there is no gay friendly city in a region/city which is whether FULL of religion or jealousy. Then they think they have right to diminish your character and limit your rights!
