My aunt called the other day to catch up and she asked what I wanted for a graduation gift…I had not even though about this and had no idea so told her I would get back to her. After thinking for a few days I still have no idea…she is the type of aunt who always can get interesting gifts but my taste is very odd so hard to find a good gift for me. What was some good gifts you can give to someone graduating in the sciences that would be meaningful and practical?

If you have to ask for it then half the fun is lost. Tell her to surprise you with something she comes up with! I hate being asked what I want for a present- may as well get cash- unless she is asking due to wanting to spend tens of thousands on you. Then I would suggest the 'present' I recently bought myself: to get you to the lab quicker of course

    Good idea.

A buddy of mine's dad did this for him at graduation and he went all over Europe. Had an amazing time and put it on his résumé when he got back to the states. He got a lot of questions about it and thinks it is what actually landed him the job he has now.

I got money from all my relatives when I graduated from college. It was enough for me to put a deposit down for an apartment 500 miles away from home and to buy some new pieces of furniture.
