Since the most popular threads lately have been about someone's insecurities, I think we should discuss this:
Lately, I've noticed that my cat is paying more attention to my roommate than me. I mean, she doesn't come when I call her and she always sleeps with him.
Is it me, or are most pets just attention whores and will go with whoever happens to call them first????
I just don't know what to do anymore...I mean, like it hurts me so bad when she doesn't sleep with me.....icon_sad.gif

    bad joke:

Q: What's the difference between having a dog and having a boyfriend?

A: If you feed a dog, you can count on where he sleeps.

I seems your pussy wants an open relationship. If I were you, I'd look for some cat on craigslist, invite the kitty over and give her a belly rub right in front of your cat. See how she likes it!

I'm too afraid of meeting someone on Craigslist. Are there any other sites I might meet a cat who is faithful? I mean, at my age, I'm worried I won't find another cat like mine...and there are so many that have diseases and stuff.

So, recently I came out to her...and now I think she's avoiding me because I told her I was gay.
Do you think I should get a boy cat? A kitten or full grown???

Get a full grown boy cat, not a kitten. Everyone always wants the twinks, but it's much more difficult for an older cat to find love.

I loved mine. She loved me.

When I was forced to flee my home I knew I'd miss her the most.

Sometimes when I sneak back in the house and they aren't there... I go see her especially and play with her to let her know I'm still around.

I wish I could kidnap her.

My dogs are not only faithful but almost pathologically stalker-y. I'm told they're abjectly miserable in my absence, a level of attachment I'm not proud of fostering. They find others novel but after the initial minute of excitement they defer to me every time. And don't even think of pulling any sudden moves on me with them around unless I've cleared you with them first!

But I suspect my neighbor's cat has a cheatin' heart. They take frequent vacations and asked that I check in on him while they're away for the week even though he has his own automatic water and food dispenser. They warned me that he'd claw and bite strangers if approached but he let me pet him and rub his belly for 20 minutes yesterday and the only move he made was slapping his tail against the wall and exhaling loudly through his nostrils. Despite his aggressive reputation not once did he get up to rub against me to mark me as his territory - he totally submitted. Today he ran to greet me and was visibly disappointed when I left. When I relayed that story over the phone I could tell they were a little irked at what an attention whore their little precious turned out to be!

Heh, I was staying with a friend for a bit after I graduated and he owned a cat. Not two days there, she started to sleep with me instead of him! Poor guy, it kinda bothered him icon_neutral.gif

I have a Siamese cat named Nefertiti (Kitty for short). I used to be her favorite person in the family, she would follow me everywhere, sleep with me, allow me to pick her up and play with me (no one else could), and just acompany me with everything. I have to add, also, that she despised my brother. She wouldn't step into his room, freak out if he picked her up, and once shut a door on him.

Now that I've been at school these past 2 years..she's taken a liking to my brother more than me icon_sad.gif

I WISH my cats would cheat on me!! They are soo obsessed with me! I can not go ANYWHERE with them following me. I would love for them to sit on someone elses lap or cuddle with someone else!

I secretly love it though lol

No. My dogs are sluts for treats or even getting petted. Whenever we go to the dog park, they have to say hi to everyone there.
Well, they have to keep me in their line of sight at all times, so maybe they think it's an open relationship.

My cat was completely loyal to me. He'd come when I called, and he had to be near me. I'd introduce other people to him and he'd feel safe being near me.

My cat is like a dog in a cats body, unfortunately that makes him an attention whore as well. Whenever my friends come over unless i have a treat all i see is his back end...

I love my dog. She growls at everybody and tries to bite people when they get too close, but she never tries to do anything to me. She usually follows me around the house and sleeps on my bed whether or not I'm home. She runs away nearly every day, but when I call her, she always comes running. She's probably the worst behaved dog to have ever lived.

This is her after she found her way onto the table at Thanksgiving last year.

She's kind of dumb, but I love her.

My Penelope is a dude-magnet. She has no fear of other dogs and will trot right past them to meet strangers. This is why I think she'd wander off. I know she loves me and would miss me, but someone would just pet her, pick her up, and walk away, her little stump of a tail wagging full-bore.

    Peace,
    Bardy

My dog and cat are so loyal that if I dropped them off in Alaska they would be at the front door by the time I got home.

Sounds like the makings for a future Judge Judy episode.
