    Hey guys,

I need a little help and I don't know where to start. I have recently cut out alot of crap from my diet spuring me into wanting to start exercising again. Before I had a job, I basically QVC style workout equipment exercises for an hour everyday. Since I got a job, I have no time so I have decided to make an hour a day for working out.

My overall goal is to get rid of the fat I have and tone up. I have decent leg muscles they are just untoned so I need to work on those. I have NO arm muscles, well I have a little but its very min. I have fat on my love handles parts at the back which I want gone and I did have some man boob fat but it seems to have gone down abit because I lost 5lbs last week, just from cutting out crap.

Anyways, I just wan't to tone up, and lose a little fat but don't have time to go to a gym.

I had alot of exercise stuff but now all I have is basic stuff like, a stepper machine thing, the LTT. A cross trainer and I have one weight, which has 2 5lb bits and 2 2.5lb bits. I can do a few weights with the 10lb on but I have such crap arm muscles.

I want to take up running/jogging because Its something I actually enjoy.

Im just at a loss of where to start.

Whens the best time of day to work out?
    Before or after first meal?
Will I need to take any suppliments?
What exercise equipment would you recommend for me to get to tone up?
How often should I work out? I can and would like to everyday, even if its small.
I guess my diet will need an overhaul, is there a list of foods that are "good" and why?
Should i get a cheapo like "everlast" weight bench?

Im happy to answer any q's that will help give more info

I understand its hard, im being extreamly vague but if anyone can offer any advice please drop a reply.

I'd hesitate to say, before thinking of supplements or equipment, start with establishing a routine. Start small with run or two runs a week, make it regular, and make it at a time where you can commit to doing it every week.

Once you have that routine down, you can increase it as you see fit, but you have to establish a benchmark that gets you out and exercising regularly.

There is no magic time of the day, it is simply what works for you and where it can fit into your life.

I used to train 5am everyday, however with work and uni I now train in the evenings, and a Sat morning run.

After a 6-8 weeks of reconditioning, start to explore increased programs, supplements, etc. In the meantime, good healthy diet, routine exercise and good sleep patterns.

Kk so at the moment just try and do anything a few times a week?

On the side of dieting is there like an average days plan? I'm so used to fad diets I naturally dont eat much now but I did an hour workout today and I'm starving. Its like I would rather not eat than eat crap and I don't know like a huge load of alternatives.

Okay. So you wanna start working out to tone up and lose some weight. Welcome to the club and it's great to have you.

Start your transformational mission today, don"t procrastinate.

Here's your workout routine for today:

EDUCATE yourself. READ articles that answer ALL of your questions on Bodybuilding.com or on RJ under Workout Plans.. These are the most common questions people ask when they are starting out. Important note: What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.

Pick up some magazines. I regularly read Men's Fitness, Maximum Fitness, Reps, and Exercise For Men Only (yeah, I know, soft porn). There is always a useful piece information in some of the articles.

This is how I started out, and it worked for me.

Thanks for the advice so far guys.

Researching and leanring about health and fitness wouldn't bog me down as when I find something interesting I could read forever about it. But i get what you mean.

Well for the past few days I have been doing an hour of cross trainer, random sets of body weight squats and lunges, just trying random things out.

From reading about, I have figured I fall into the "skinny fat" pile. My legs are somewhat tonned, although they arnt, its just in comp with the rest of me, my arms are skinny, and my mids I carry extra weight. Although I seem to have lost some since cutting out alot of crap.

Im not sure what to do with reguards to carb cravings though, I still eat carbs obv but im trying to avoid pasta and bread and I want to eat my arm. I grew up with an american mum meaning everything was deep fried, coated in something, covered in butter and served on pasta(covered in cream no doubt), and she is a master desert maker to, so there is a cheesecake sitting in my fridge right now, calling my name.

I have been reading about, and its interesting but every artical contradicts the last which is annoying.

Mini 2 week update, I had been using my cross trainer which was good but it started squeaking and being annoying so I started running on the streets and in the short time I have been exercising I can already tell my fitness is improving. Just a few days ago, I could only make it jogging/running for 25 mins whereas today I made it 40 and could have kept going.

My man boobs have gone down too and I only know because someone at work told me so yesterday, it's such a boost.

I just need to get my diet ontrack and then I will be cool,

Also my mum is so cute, I told her I was planning on getting into shape and she randomly got me the easy shaper, you know the thing fro
Telly shopping, now I know it's most likely a toy for all
Of you guys but it actually works me out.

Basically, I seem to be getting the hang of this fitness stuff lol
