I hate the Grindr app for Android. I used it for a few days and deleted it. It was far too slow to load anything, and kept getting my GPS location wrong, even after turning GPS on and off. It said GPS accuracy was within 300ft, but it was putting me about 40 miles away. Even Foursquare gets my location much closer than Grindr, and FS doesn't do too well. When a guy's picture was loading, sometimes it took up to 5 minutes to load, even when the image size wasn't too big. (Grindr doesn't seem to have a limit on how big the photo is that you upload.)
That said, I've had much better luck with the settings in Scruff.
Honestly, I'd get the Android phone over Blackberry anyway. I've got 1 friend who uses a Blackberry (and uses the Grindr beta, having many of the same problems I have), and is constantly complaining that those of us with iphones and droids have it better. He swears he's switching to iphone when his contract is up.
