What exercises would you suggest for your ass muscles?

I was talking with my bf earlier today and we were having a good discussion about working out at stuff and then we got into telling each other's opinion on what we think we would like to see on the other person. We do a lot of talking and discussing which is awesome. So I told him it would be nice to see him work his lower body more than always focusing on his upper body and he told me he would like to see me work on my ass so that it can be "plump" as he likes to say. So, I wanted to include some exercises to help my ass out.

If anyone has any ideas other than squats, please let me know.

walking lunges with dumbbells are good. Or Static lunges too. But keep on the squats. Just build any of these, or the other lads suggestions, into your weekly routine. After a couple of weeks or so, you'll notice a difference.icon_smile.gif

Squats, Lunges, Kickbacks, hamstring curls, Leg press - the farther down (closer to the kick plate) you go the more it works the glutes.

    "SUPERSTAR!"
    The sweet Mary Katherine lunge!

    MaryKatherineLunge.jpg

Avoid the posing though! The heels up is good for the calves though. =)

Back leg straight, front knee over toe, at least a 45 degree angle at the front knee, look straight ahead.

You can add weight or not. Arms up or down. Whatever will make you feel it.

Butt Blaster and the stair mill machine. I also do deep squats. And then once you have a rockin ass, you will get all the thrusting and releasing you can handle.

The romanion deadlift. Look it up at bodybuilding.com. This deadlift is done with the knees only slightly bent (straight leg). It also works the lower back, but is one of the best glut exercises you can do.

The only problem with this exercise is that many people in the gym have never seen it and assume you are doing some other exercise incorrectly, so don't be surprised if someone tries to "correct you".

Yeah...definitely a great exercise for lower back and glutes (and even hamstrings...as secondary)

This exercise is also known as a stiff legged dead lift

    kickbacks were mentioned before...

if you want a dancer's butt you'll need to do the following:

dégagé en arrière (low kick back)
grand battement en arrière (high kick back)
developè en arrière (high, static hold to the back)

    do each side.

try this, and if it's not enough resistence add ankle weights:

    32 low
    no rest
    32 high
    no rest
    32 count hold
    repeat

    change sides

    repeat all

Squats, lounges, weighted step ups, there are actually quite afew things you can do. Finish off your lift with a good stair stepper are a stair climber. This tread reminds me...Its Leg Day!
