    I agree.

When I think skinny fat, I think my buddy eric.
28-29" waist, hardly any difference in circumference between his wrist and forearms and upper arms right? Yet still had an obvious beer belly...sticks out prominently more than his chest over his jeans and tiny waist.

It all depends on what you WANT to do. Simply lose fat and be lean, bulk up, get cut, etc. Think of your current body as the clay... you have to know what you want to make before you can know how to make it.

Question: Do you workout at a gym or exercise in other ways? You say you "don't really have any muscle". Well, it's not going to just appear there on its own. Get in the gym and break a sweat. icon_lol.gif

Judging just from a front angle shot, I would hesitate to say "yes" definitively.

But if this is your "default state" (meaning you are not especially active or hold a typical sedentary job, and eat a typical Western European/North American diet with a high load of simple sugars), I'd say that you are probably better off than the average guy.

Of course, if you become more active now, and reduce your consumption of carbs (in general) and source some high quality protein (fish, chicken, lean red meat) ... you will have an easier time of crafting the body you want.

"Most of a good body is made in the kitchen", as the saying goes.

And I'd recommend scaling back the cardio, perhaps to only 2x a week for no more than 20min. per session.

Focus on lifting heavier weights for lower repititions - or do your Pushups with good form and long counts (consider wearing a weighted vest). I like doing Pushups with a TRX suspension system (or a tall chair or a few steps at the bottom of a stairwell) to get your feet above the parallel to the floor to leverage more weight against your arms and chest.

Don't forget pullups and dips either.

Squats and deadlifts shouldn't be neglected either to build up the legs and arse (nothing is quite so disconcerting as looking like Adonis from the waist up propped up on a pair of toothpick legs icon_wink.gif )

Even minor adjustments to your diet and activity will have noticeable results (I've lost over 50 pounds in the past year with regulating my carbs and strength/bodyweight and ballistic exercise sessions of about an hour about for 3x weekly).

While I'm certainly not fitness model material, I am certainly happy with my progress thus far.

You look to be in your early 20s from that photo - so it shouldn't be hard at all for you to set a goal and reach it.

For many of us, the older you are before you start to pursue fitness in earnest, the harder it is to break old habits, and the more challenging it it may be to get those results.

Bite your tongue. There isn't enough hair there to cover an otter's toe. Otters are meant to be hairy. He is not hairy. He's more kind of cublike-in-progress.

I would cut your cardio to 25 minutes --- but really push yourself during those 25 to get your heart rate up. If you're not breaking a good sweat you're not pushing hard enough. Spend the other 20 minutes (or more) lifting weights and doing stomach workout. More than anything, watch your diet. All the time spent in the gym will be wasted if you eat the wrong food in the wrong amounts at the wrong times of the day.

I think 45 min cardio 5 times a week is probably more than you need to be doing. Do 30 minutes of intense cardio 3 times a week and lift 3 times a week. The lean & strong exercise plan on here would be perfect for you I think. Make sure to eat a well-balanced diet high in protein and low in junk food too. After two years of pretty intense chemo therapy, steroid treatment (not the hot kind), and being in and out of the hospital in my mid-20s for lymphoma (after having always been in great shape before that), I had your figure more or less and followed the same path and I think it worked. Good luck.

That'd be "twink" to describe a hairless thinner guy.

Though KickStarts appears to have a few wisps of chest hair going, so perhaps he is a Demi-Twink or a Transitional Otter, or maybe something in between?

There simply aren't enough terms to capture every wavelength in the spectrum it seems lol

Yes, kickstarts, do that...keep eating healthy; follow more or less the lean-and-strong workout plan on here and you'll see results. 5 weeks seems like a long time, but it's really not. You'll start really seeing results in 3 months if you keep at it.
