hey brock, though i can't relate to you about the weight issue i can with trying to change something about yourself that you're not content with (i guess everyone here can) but you have my support if i can help you out in any way! this site is a great community and the people i've chatted to have been friendly, supporting and encouraging so i hope you get the same interaction here.

one tip, everything you think and write down, try to make it positive or motivational. for example, when you speak of your husband and being jealous of him, look to his body type as your goal rather than as your competition. they only comparisons you should have is how you were and what you are now, now that you're getting into shape. slowly you'll see results but it isn't instantaneous.
negativity puts doubt in your mind and it keeps you in the same place you started.
    good luck matey!

    Hi Brock

Welcome and dont worry about the motivation, we can all help here. I used to be 240lbs. and I am now down to 170 so it can be done. One thing that I will tell you that helped me is do not expect the weight to drop off in a blink of an eye. I was 27 when I started working out and Im turning 30 this year. Yes its been 3 years but they go by really fast. I figure if it took me 27 years to get this big, it is going to take me a while to get to the weight I want. So take your time, no need to rush. Remember that if you start working out is more of a new lifestyle rather than something you just picked up. Diet and excercise are key to lose the weight, so start easy and keep an eye on what you eat and when you eat it. If you ever need a pick me upper shoot me an email, more than happy to help if I can.

Hey there, ambulancecub80, you've definitely come to the right place. Congrats on making the decision to get in shape--you seem to be in a really good place to make this change, with a hubby who loves you just as you are and will support you. Add to that a career that pushes you to be in shape and your own motivation ... that's terrific! Any help we can give, ask, and good luck!

Welcome to the site,Brock!I agree with all the above.I`m fairly new to the site myself,so don`t feel afraid to ask what you think the other guys take for granted. We`re all still learning, always will be!You`ve made the most important decision, getting fitter, losing weight,so everything else is details thar can be learned. You have a husband who loves you,so that`s another great plus.I began getting fit last August for a job application(police)as a complete beginner at fourty six,so you`re well ahead of me,timewise.I regret I didn`t do this earlier! Now I`m fitter, leaner by a stone, more toned, and more muscled.I`ve really enjoyed the experience. The paramedic job will help motivate you(mine did),and keep you minded of the benefits of all this hard work. You`ve quite a bit of weight to lose,so be patient.Once you`re exercising regularly,it`ll come off.Losing it will be another encouragement. You`ll feel better mentally as well.I certainly did.If you need to know something, just ask!If you want to e-mail me more,I`d be more than willing to answer any questions you may have.By the way,I`m a bear, too!Best wishes, and good luck!

Dont worry about it , buddy. We all have cheat day. If you find yourself losing motivation, try other exercise. I use to enjoy running, but after I am getting bored with it, I start dancing. Now when dancing dont interest me anymore , well I can always go swimming.

Welcome to real jock. Last year (around this time) I was nearly 245 lb. I have loss nearly 60lb. If I can do it , everybody else can. Most of the guys here are really supportive .
