Hey RJ'ers. I'm taking a trip to Brazil in August and I'm pretty in the dark about Brazil but my brother and I thought it would be really cool. Between the 10 or so days over there, I want to visit Sao Paulo and Rio.

Anyone who lives there or been, can you help me figure out a thing or two? What's the weather like in August? How long should I plan to spend in each city? Where are good places to stay and visit while there? Are there other cool cities I should check out while I'm in the "neighborhood?"

Any advice or discussion on the topic would be much appreciated.

It'll be winter. Any quick search will give you the average temp and precipitation for August. It should be mild.
Another great city you might want to check out is Salvador de Bahia. It has beautiful architecture, an interesting history, and is a UNESCO heritage site.
I also really enjoyed my time in the Amazon and visiting Manaus.
10 days would be a bit short to see everything. Stick with Rio and Sao Paulo, and maybe a detour ti Salvador, if you're inclined.

Make sure you buy some hot swimsuits. Take pics in them to prove it. icon_smile.gif
