I sent them a thank-you - thanks for the suggestion! I've also sent their link to everyone on the vestry at our church. I doubt we can move that far, but we are officially Open and Affirming, and it says so on all our stationary, signs, etc.

    So there is progress!

I'm floating the idea of seeing if we can have one of their pastors preach our next Matthew Shepard sermon next Oct. don't know if it will work, but...

I'd be interested to hear how anyone here has moved their home church (if any!) in the direction of acceptance or even action. Like so many things, this kind of progress tends to come up from the grassroots.

Where was that scumbag arguing about separation of church and state when the churches take a stand AGAINST equal rights?

I hate religious hypocrites... hate them.

Sent the church a note of thanks. So proud of what this Kentucky church is doing. Sometimes just doing the right thing calls for a lot of bravery.

This is like one nazi defecting from an army of 10 thousand. And I'm sure the next church down the block in Hickville, KT will just do the signing then.

On the upside, the gesture is nice, and it deserves media attention to make it clear to the bible bangers that there is no single viewpoint of all christians.

    Yup.
    I'm sure you're right.
I just hope that this great church doesn't lose too many of it's worshippers.

I'm suprised to see a church take such a stand, and one in the south. That's great!

I am happy to see that there is a positive ray of hope in Kentucky. Lets just hope that this is the beginning of a new era of tolerance and acceptance in this southern border state.
