It appears that Gov. Perry now wants federal aid from the country from which he wanted to secede.

Rick Perry is a tool who talks out of both sides of his mouth. And the sheeple here know it. They just vote for him because he has an R after his name.

The secessionist talk is - and was - fluff for the far right of his constituency.

No state today is truly able to support itself apart from the federal teat.

Granted, that teat is about to run dry, and we'll see remarkable inflation to try and float our way out of debt.

I think it's necessary for the federal government to be clear about this sort of situation. The mess in Texas was entirely of its own making. Aid should be available, but as a loan and with a market rate.

    Gail Collins, in today's NYT:

"Right now, the state is wrestling with a fiscal megacrisis that goes back to 2006, when the Legislature cut local property taxes and made up for the lost revenue with a new business tax. The new tax produced billions less than expected to the shock and horror of everyone except all the experts who had been predicting that all along. "

Not only Numb, but those masses begin to believe the propaganda that's told them over and over again, then they'll fight for it to preserve it as the truth and won't even give the real story listening time, the real story gets the reputation of being a "conspiracy theory". The Far Right know this and use it to further their Corporatist agenda.

For the best recent example look no further the Koch Bro's and their financial support of the TBagger fools who further the Koch's interests to the demise of their own interests. Who do you suppose is laughing all the way to the bank !!

who needs the federal government when you have g--?NOW, THEREFORE, I, RICK PERRY, Governor of Texas, under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Texas, do hereby proclaim the three-day period from Friday, April 22, 2011, to Sunday, April 24, 2011, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas. I urge Texans of all faiths and traditions to offer prayers on that day for the healing of our land, the rebuilding of our communities and the restoration of our normal and robust way of life.

The wildfires are a punishment from God. The citizens of Texas have angered God by putting a dumbass in the Governor's chair for 3 terms in the state of Texas (God's country). Not to mention allowing Dubya to use Texas as a stepping stone into the White House for 2 terms as the worst president the US has ever had. Repent for your sins my fellow Texans!! Vote Democratic!!
