Is it just me or are the topics here getting a bit lame?

I've scanned nearly all the topics on the first page of this and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed by the lack or interest. Like, I have seen some really interesting topics when I first signed up but now they just seem to be getting redundant.

I just get annoyed when I have to look at tweet-like posts or people not getting the attention they want. I'm sure someone can talk about real things that happen in real life rather than something silly, right?

I have over 150 posts and I've only been here about a month. I've done what I can and I tend to answer rather than post. Even at that I do post, but mostly in the dating section.

I'm not picking on anyone, but just saying I keep seeing the same thread about, "would you pick the guy above or below you?" or "I'm lonely, no one has emailed me". Or the equally mundane hypothetical question threads.

I have to agree with you on those. Not only do I find them boring but some of them are downright offensive. Why would anyone want to be rated or turned down on a public forum?

There's really nothing being done about repeat topics. There should be moderators to at least lock redundant topics. And there should also be no more "guy above you" crap. But at the same time, the whole "I just came out of the closet" and "why do we have gay parades" and "is he cheating on me" stuff resurfaces every damn month because new people come on to the site and genuinely don't know answers. RJ is defaulting as the "coming out of the closet" site to some.

This website have enough room to accomodate all kinds of topics, from the mediocre to the intellectually stimulating!! just let the useless topics alone, and participate or create in the ones that interests you!

I've noticed it too and not in any short order either. As some have eluded to, the forums go through cycles. Even the chatrooms go through them too and can even be defined by time of day as to who and what will be talked in them. As for the forums, even the serious threads get hijacked by the usual supects who think it is their duty to in effect change said topic because one of them said something the other thinks is cute. And then there are those who are bored out of their minds who have nothing better to do than Resurrected an ancient thread. If said topic is that interesting, start a new one. Novel idea right? Surely there is more on the minds of real jockers than the now normal "I am pretty enough for this Porn Star" thread.

There are many threads on more important topics. Unfortunately, many of the them are in the News & Politics and Gay News & Events Forums that so often break down into name calling, insults, and petty bickering and that is not very welcoming or inviting to others here that might be interested in the topics. Each side blames the other for this happening, but both sides are guilty. I know the same thing can sometimes happen in the other forums, but it's not nearly as consistently as in those two forums. And to think that so many involved in those forums are the members here of a more mature age- how disappointing.

Redundancy gets boring and lame... this is just what it is...

different posters posting the same thing over and over again... OR
the same poster posting the same context thread with a reworded title.

    yes, it is getting lame.

But, do you have any better websites?

There is no moderator, and thus the debate will almost always fail. And I'm not talking about active forum moderators which we also don't have and desperately need, I'm talking about the principles of Debate 101 which clearly state the need to place an impartial regulator in the middle when any issue is to be debated.
