Okay guys, just curious if anyone else out there is as mesmerized by this incredibly talented new artist, Leona Lewis, as I am? She is truly one of the best female R&B/pop voices to come along since Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton...and she's GORGEOUS!

Checkout the video of her first U.S' single, "BLEEDING LOVE". This was the biggest selling single in UK history, and her debut album drops here in the U.S. next week.

I'm not sure how the UK members will feel about this thread considering she was in the press last year just as much Britney Spears was here in the states, if not more.

However, I am a fan and ashamed to say I have been hooked on Bleeding Love since it was released in the UK.

She also covered Snow Patrol's Run

More videos on her official youtube account http://www.youtube.com/user/leonalewis

Here are some songs in mp3 format that will not be on the album if you are interested:

    Run
    Forgiveness
    It's All For You
    Summertime

and some live performances, also mp3 format:

    I Will Always Love You
    Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word
    A Million Love Songs

    Enjoy.

Random Trivia: According to Leona, her and her boyfriend Lou Al Chamaa tend to get held up for hours by US immigration whenever they come over because of his name (he's Syrian).

I've loved "Bleeding Love" since late last year when it was released in the U.K. and I'm so glad her success has translated here in the States.

She's gorgeous, which definitely helps her career a little.

I can't wait to get the new CD because she has a cover of one of my all-time favorite Roberta Flack tunes -- "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" -- which should be an off the hook smash all over again.

Yeah, I think she's great. I don't know much about her, but I like her voice, she's BEAUTIFUL, and classy. She may get coverage ala britney...but let's just hope she's not britneyesque!

onmyway - thanks for the links.

Leona Lewis just made music history by being the first British women to debut at No. 1 in the US.

    Yes, she's a great vocalist.
Bleeding Love was a hit here in Israel, too.

She's alright, she has a nice voice, but Bleeding Love annoys the everloving crap out of me. It's doing quite well for itself here in Australia... but the lyrics make me cringe. "You cut me open and I keep bleeding love"? Sorry to all you fans, but those are unforgivably clich├ęd. To me...she's generic. More of the same - woman with a strong voice belts out a few songs, mostly ballad-esque songs. Her next few singles will have to impress me with some diversity because at the moment she's just another pop diva with nothing new to offer icon_sad.gif

Edit: Her boyfriend looks like a fine specimen though. Well done Leona.
