It shamelessly rips off Major Lazer's "Pon de Floor"! It's a freakin outrage!

Definitely a Rip off; don't like either song really. Pon De Floor is HUGE in the UK- can't go on a night out without hearing it, and when I do, it's time to leave the dance floor and go get another drink...

found the song annoying when Major Lazer did it, cant believe ill have to hear 1000 times more now that beyonce is doing it icon_sad.gif
But they still play his song in the clubs so why would she use a track that is still out there? If anything its good exposure for him

i hate beyonce's feminist bullshit and she ruined a great song by adding stupid ass lyrics to it icon_evil.gif just like that new rapper that covered swedish house mafia's single "one" mainstream artists are always trying to rip off underground artists and its always terrible i hate it

You guys do know that it's illegal for people to rip off music right? Meaning Beyonce probably got permission to use that beat from the original artist, which in turn doesn't mean it was ripped off and that the original artist is ok with her using it...

That being said, it's not a great song.

Whether she's got permission or not, it's still using a beat from somebody else. Come on B... make your own shit! She's already ripped dance moves from the 70's, not she's ripping beats... Let's get something original going instead of just pumping shit out as fast as possible to keep the crowds pleased

Not a fan of the song to be honest. One of the main problems with Beyonce (IMO) is that she seems to insist on writing all her own stuff. I know it should be a good thing, but the songs she writes always seem so unmelodic and messy. On top of that her lyrics are often kinda childish (diva, video phone etc)

I would love her to do a really soulful rnb album one day, to show what she is really capable of.

.... that's like saying you'd rather see an artist lip sync instead of actually sing at their concert because you want them to dance more.

I wouldn't say that at all. I just feel that she's dumbing down her talent by releasing these songs which really aren't good enough for a singer of her calibre.

You do know that Beyonce's co-writing credits should be taken with only a grain of salt, right??? How many more times does she need to get sued for plagiarism?

True, but a lot if her songs (particularly the uptempo ones) seem to follow a very similar style, so I still think she has a fair amount of input into them. What songs did she get sued for?

major lazer sent this song to her for her to use. He wanted more exposure with his work. Hes an underrated producer. He actually did a few songs for her new cd. I think the hook is catchy and pretty poisonous. Soon everyone will catch them selves singin it. Haha well I know if I hear this song I'm gonna be shakin my ass regardless. I think it will grow on me once the video drops. I hated crazy in love and single ladies... until the video came out.

Me too, even Michelle Williams, she's a bit over rated, I still love her but I feel like her music needs something more.

Songs are not "stolen", they're sampled, people, Be sampled the other song, and paid good money for it. I gotta be honest that at first i was like WTF I hate it LOL but now I love it, it's definitely grown on me and now I love it, it's pretty damn catchy.
