To cut some of the tension that is very apparent in this forum at many times, name a politically-related fun fact or two. Who knows, you may learn something new!

    Lets keep it derogatory-free!

The Liberal Democratic Party (of Japan) is actually a libertarian and conservative-leaning party.

Finland has one of the world's most comprehensive welfare systems, which grew out of the traditional Nordic belief that the state was not inherently hostile to the well-being of its citizens, but could intervene benevolently on their behalf.

That is a nice, fun fact!

Unfortunately, many Americans (and most here on RJ) don't understand that the Constitution of the United States, along with the ideals put forth in the Declaration, prohibit such a system from ever being in place here (the soon to be defunct Obamacare, the soon to be destroyed Social Security and Medicare systems).

Incorrect. You know less about the Constitution that anyone I've ever engaged in debate with. And all you do is regurgitate the talking points of extreme right-wingers who believe that their taste define what is Constitutional versus what isn't.

    LMFAO!
Any attempt by the Repubs in the House to repeal the HCR bill would be swatted down by the Dems in the Senate and the President.
And if the Repubs ever succeeded in killing Social Security and Medicare, the Repubs would be swept out of power for a generation by an angry American electorate.

    Good day to you, RickRick!

Nobody will have to lift a finger to kill Social Security and/or Medicare. They are self destructing on their own.

    LOL!
    Clueless delusion.

The American people love SS and Medicare.
They will NOT support our political representatives allowing them to "self destruct".
We know the Dems will do whatever it takes to keep SS and Medicare solvent and in place.
If the Repubs don't work with the Dems to save and protect SS and Medicare - AGAIN, the Repubs will be swept out of power for a generation.

Just look what happened to BUSH when he tried to privatize Social Security.

    LOL!
You Repubs never learn from your mistakes will you?
No wonder you guys continue to support the failed trickle down economic policy.
You just don't learn from your mistakes.

Come on! If it didn't work before, it's bound not to work this time! Nothing like sticking to the same old greedy idiocy! After all, we're not all in this together, and all that matters is wealth and ME!

Hey Columbusite, up here in BC, the Liberal Party was run by micro-manager Gordon Campbell, who pulled it far into the right wing swing.

Now, under Christy Clark, it's moved back into a more moderate conservative position.

I find it a bit funny that parties in foreign countires with Liberal in their names are often moderate or conservative leaning!

In 1993, Cambodia became the only post-communist country to restore a monarchy as the system of government.

Their are only three true elective monarchy forms of government in the world today: Malaysia, Cambodia, and The Holy See.
