First of all I never been to a gym. But I have definitely worked out at home in the past, and at my college gym. Now I decided to sign up at LA fitness, which is the nicest facility in my area.

Things I noticed: Theres definitely alot of idiots but also alot of nice people.

    1. I hate when people just sit on the equipment and not use it, they sit there and don't even do anything except watch friend's work out, play with their Ipod or stare out into space. When asked if you could use it they give you an attitude.

    2. I've had a bit of a problem mostly in the sauna, people think its their god damn room or something. I've had multiple people throw tons of water over the hot rocks( a sign right above it says do not do this or it will short circuit) people do it anyway and adjust a switch on the bottom so it doesn't short circuit. I also seen people throw scented shit on it that reaks without even asking others. This raises the temperature to super hot, to the point where its burning your skin. Alot of the time some guy comes in and does this, then he leaves its like WTF?

    3. The same guy who throws water on the rocks, constantly looks at me and plays with his dick in the sauna. He also follows me when I go to take a shower so he can try and look at me naked. Then when I got to change as soon as I'm done in the shower he walks by like 4times to see if I'm naked. Hes disgusting in every way, and it really creeps me the fuck out. I don't care if guys view me but to follow me around and make sexual gestures is not cool, especially if I'm obviously not into you what so ever.

These are the things I've noticed which I cannot stand.

I do love going to the gym though, even though this bullshit goes on. The shape I'm getting in and the way I feel farrr outweighs all of that.

Welcome to the world of communal gyms. They are public places and unfortunately seem to attract their fair share of rude and impolite people.

Thing is, don't take it to heart. It's only the gym, you're there to get a workout and sweat a bit and then get out and enjoy the rest of your day. You're not there to make friends in the main. Most of the people there you wouldn't want to make friends with anyway.

However people who sit around on machines stopping others from using them are basically being rude and should allow you to 'work in' if you want to use the equipment.

There will always be losers who see the gym, sauna and showers for sexual purposes, try to ignore them.

Mainly enjoy your routine and ignore the bad mannered losers.

geez, that's pretty gross and rough.

I don't have any problems with dong-handling perverts, but I do have stupid people sitting on equipment (on cell phones nonetheless). They generally will let me work in, and I figure the more I annoy them the more they realize they are total douches.

Sicko has the same beef as me. However, while many of them will let you work in. Most of them are so busy talking about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that not only are they not really working out, they're acting like you aren't even waiting for the machine.

I know what your going though. I got to deal wtih Saunna trolls too sometime. I think if you change the time you go to the gym you would probably will experince less of this. I go to the gym between 6:30 and 9:30 in the morning when there are barely people there. When people are gettin off of work around peak hours such as 4:30 to 7:30 your gonna have alot of knuckleheads zoning out.

Also smaller gyms have less traffic.

All in all it's good your going.

I've never been in the sauna of the gym I am going now .I've noticed that there are people there wich I've never seen in the gym.And I find it funny when they leave the sauna looking like they are tired of the job they've done.I don't really don't see the purpose ...
I think it's better to sweat doing cardio.Anyway I understand what you are saying.
