HIGH SCHOOL PROM

Ok, so I originally had a date with a girl i used to work with to my senior prom, but she said she made concert plans with her sister (for avril I might add). We had talked about this for half a year, and she knew the date for at least 2 months. But why it was so great was because she knows about me and I didn't have to worry about anything being awkward or whatnot. Plus she would no doubt make every single guy there jealous (minus the closeted ones, well maybe even them). I am so damn pissed at her it's not even funny!

I just ask another girl right, well there's a problem, my mom's wedding is the same day. Any girl I ask from school is going to want to do a long dinner, pictures, all that jazz. With the wedding, that may be hard to do. I also don't wanna lead on a girl giving them the wrong impression.

Well, an interesting and VERY ballsy move crossed my mind. Get a guy to go with me. I know who I would bring if i decide to, very cute, very muscular so I don't think many people would try to "kick our ass" if people had a problem of me being gay. If you haven't figured it out, only a handful of people know about me at school.

What do y'all think I should do?

I was out in highschool, got harrassed but never beaten up. I would have taken a guy to grad if I went. I was never a rah rah typical highschool activities kind of guy. I fugred if I rarely showed up for class, why bother going to grad?

Take the guy...being the centre of attention is awesome.

yeah but i also dont wanna feel like im trying to be the center of attention. and i hate to say this, but keeo in mind i live in a very rich neighborhood where a lot of people dont really know what reality is... ignorant. so they may be extremely judgemental.

Okay, back on topic. Take the guy, live it, own it, be a star...give everyone something to talk about.

But more than that, I would imagine that taking a guy would make you much happier than taking a girl, whether she knows your gay or not.

It'll be scary for you, but probably not as bad as you think it would be. Besides, you can look back on it as you doing your part for awareness and acceptance. If it weren't for people who put themselves out there back in the day, we wouldn't be enjoying the visibility and acceptance we have today.

Now how's that jello coming along?

Your mom's getting married the same day as your prom? Well isn't SHE trying to be the diva in the family! Bring the boy to your mom's wedding as well--you'll both have tuxes, and you'll have the chance to be stunning all day, and you can show your mom who the real diva is.

I would say, do it for sure. I agree with some of the other posts. You will get some stares, but I doubt if
there will be many issues from students.

The administration might have other ideas, but screw em. Time they accepted what is.

Keep us posted on what you opt to do.

I know peopla are telling you not to miss prom, but it's not that great really. So if you cant make it, dont sweat it. Your mom is a bit more important.

Beyond that... my Jr year i took two dates, one girl and one boy, We all dressed in black velvet and i did everyones make up so we matched (Oh i was a big old goth around that time).

My Sr Prom i took my friend, a girl, who didnt go to her Sr prom. HOWEVER the twist is... i took the captain of the football and wrestling team HOME from Prom. We kinda then dated til the end of the year... i graduated, he didn't.

Oh and DON'T wear a tux! That's common!

I would say go with a guy if they will let you. My high school was so homophobic that they would not let gay couples sign up together, we had to sign up separately like we were two separate people.... so crazy

If I was out in school, I would have taken a guy to prom. It would have been a lot more enjoyable than the night I had, I tell you that.
