To those who are connected to Christendom, Happy Easter! While the Easter bunny and candy and colored eggs are a lot of fun, let us remember the true reason for Easter.

Also, to all of our Jewish friends, Happy Passover. And to those who aren't connected to Christendom, have a great Sunday!

    Luke 24: 1 (KJV)

1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered his words,
9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.

TerraFirma: Happy Resurrection Sunday to you all, too!

jockfever: Thanks. "Resurrection Sunday" is the preferred phrasing.

And thanks to the OP for posting the Good News.

    (1) Christ stated that "I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before my Father" and

    (2) it helps balance the dead-end, prideful, pagan presence on this site.

The Resurrection was the greatest event in history.

Some claim to feel liberated by denying the Bible, the God of the Bible, Christ's divinity, and the Plan of Salvation.

True liberation from sin, guilt, sickness, and death, comes only through the Plan of Salvation.

Happy EASTER to you all too, especially to those of us who celebrate it for the next fifty days until Pentecost icon_biggrin.gif

But surely, as a people of the resurrection, we are not called to use such hateful or prejudiced language as that quoted above. We are called to be not only TOLERANT, but accepting and loving of those who do not share our beliefs or values. In support of this claim, I cite the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman in the book of John, as well as the story of the outcast woman at the foot of Jesus' table in the book of Mark, not to mention many others.

Peace and love to you all,
    Alex
