Its funny how luck my changed just over the weekend. Without going into too much details because I have to sort this out and keep my mum from crying and agonizing....

So essentially we recently hired a maid out from of a reliable (or so called reliable) cook whom worked for my mum's sister.
Due to the time constraints of another maid leaving we didn't do a solid background check and left it by word for the time being. Plus she acted too sweet and all doe eyed........

Sunday night the family left for function. The house of empty save for my grandmother , the bitch cunt maid and the another maid (a not too bright but simple loyal)

So a little whore ,after we left, drugged my grandmother and the other maid. She then opened our side gate and let in two goons.
The other maid put up a resistance but she was assaulted heavily and was forced to drink more of the drugs.

After that they forced their way up to the second floor and raid the room where my parents stayed.

They stole a lil over 12000 dollars worth of jewelries and up to 4000 in foreign currency

They could have stolen more but my driver arrived a lil earlier in order for the gates to be opened.

They panicked and fled. Few minutes later my driver discovers the scene. My grandmother slumped over by the table and the other maid sprawled on the ground with broken bangles around her and bleeding.

We arrived a few minutes later. My grandfather cradling my grandmother and the driver fanning the sprawled maid. My dad and I check things here and race upstairs..... My poor mum....You should have seen her face and cry of sadness when she saw the scenes....

The police have come and gone since . They've taken the cook into custody because he has recanted his vouch for that cunt and tried to flee.

My grandma and the other maid are in stable condition at the hospital where I just returned from spending the entire night. We're now picking up the pieces.

At least they stole material things instead of taking lives. Still am sadden that such a thing happened. I feel even more bad because my mum blames herself.

I want that bitch to die and raped by 12 twelve fold by std men and animals. And the Goons can suffer a never ending burning of their hands and eyes!! icon_evil.gif

A word of wisdom. Always double check your locks and any important items which a portable and can be stolen be kept in a safe. Please be safe everyone.

I apologize for being insensitive but... you have two maids, a cook, and a driver?

Let me remind you that I'm stationed in Karachi Pakistan and my parents are over on a extended stay with me.

And yes we usually did go through a verified system, but we were hasty in the decision making.

A curse-filled rant, followed by sensible crime reduction advice. I like it!

Seriously though, I hope you all recover soon.

I am so sorry that your family was a victim of crime. I know how it feels to have your home violated. I am glad that only possessions were taken, and hope that you will come to feel fortunate about this.

I don't know much about the criminal justice system in Karachi, but I do hope that there is some redress for you and your family other than having guilty parties die and be raped by 12 twelve fold by std men and animals, or suffer a never ending burning of their hands and eyes. But I understand how angry and hurt you are.

    Hugs.

Maybe going to Karachi wasn't the best Idea....
"Karachi has the highest rate of street crime in the whole world-citizens are deprived millions of rupees and valuables by criminals in around 1,500 incidents daily"

Rather than wishing your maids to be raped blah blah, you should work to address the social stratification that has incited your help to commit a crime.

Well what do you expect from a "doe eyed maid"?

Seriously, sorry to hear about the issues. Sometimes even thorough history is hard to determine how somebody is going to behave.
I hope the money can be retrieved and your grandparents back in good order.
Have a good week, hope it improves for you.

My poor grandma is traumatized and the maid is worse for wear but we've brought them back home and the maids family will take over.

I doubt the money and jewelries can ever be returned. My mum says that the money and jewelries stolen will be 'zakat' even if it were precious for my mum.

Hey, M.B., so sorry to hear about your terrible experience this past weekend. Hopefully the police will catch all the perpetrators. You cannot trust anyone anymore these days. I remember as I very young kid when we lived in Asia that my family relied on referrals from the house staff for maids, chauffeurs, security guards, etc.--until the family a block away from us was robbed and killed by criminals who were in connivance with the family's security guard. This is now very common in developing countries--it's a form of survival for many people.

And for those who're wondering why someone could have several maids, chefs, gardeners, chauffeurs and other househelp in some parts of the world, you need to get out of your own little world and visit some of these developing countries. Hint: househelp is cheap in some of these countries, and relatively affluent people have at least 3 maids, a cook, 1 or 2 chauffeurs, a gardener, and a 24-hour security guard.

Being burglarized is a true violation of your privacy that isn't fully appreciated. And then to have your grandmother so harmed by being drugged!! It is horrible.

I am sorry. My prayers with you, bro!!

@Fivealive - My heart aches to hear of the tragedy. I'm also relieved that, like you say, they only took stuff and not lives.

@Dominus and all- Yes, outside of the United States, it is customary and almost expected that expatriates hire and employ help in around the home. It is a way to demonstrate "giving back to the community". And in a county like Pakistan (which is the 6th largest in the world by population), where nearly 66% of the people live below the U.S. poverty level whatever can be done to give people hope of a better existence is critical to stem crime, drugs, and terrorism. Education to create opportunity is ultimately the tool to attack the root of poverty and all the social ills which grow from it.

Think they'll ever catch them? That's seems a rather clumsy & obvious crime, involving people who presumably know them. But perhaps Karachi law enforcement is equally clumsy.

My sympathy for you & your family.

Burglaries seem to be on the rise. A man was robbed about 2 weeks ago not far from my parent's home, but the homeowner happened to be home, and consequently shot and killed one of the men who were walking out of his house with his belongings.

A few other guys got the hell out of the house in a hurry, but were caught not long afterwards by sheriff deputies. They are looking at 10 years in prison (or so I heard), and the homeowner isn't being charged. I imagine this incident has cooled a lot of heels around here, as far as burglars go.

Thank you guys. Sorry if I seem like needy person but I just wanted to tell you what happened. My mates are over in full support and I truly feel happy to have friends that care about my family here and on rj.

The motive was pure and simple. Seduce a guy, get an employment at the residence, within a week, you rob the family.Swipe as much loot as possible. Jewelry and cash is the way to go as its easy to conceal. My cook thought with his dick and this is the outcome....icon_evil.gif

My grandma is doing ok and my parents decided that its best to have a bodyguard/houseguard now/ . We'll be adding new doors with security deadbolts.

It really is unfortunate but it is a wake up. The affluent in Latin America also employ these methods so might as well start here for my family. Infact many affluent here have heavy security and protocols. However we're just low key family.

The bitch was interest in the jewels that my mother wore...In any case we're dealing with this very calmly, but in sacrifice of proper sleep.

Once again thank you guys for caring. *hugs*

A safe is great for important papers and small valuables like personal jewelry. My parents always had one in their home. Besides discouraging burglars, they're typically also fire resistant, so hopefully the contents can survive the house burning down around it. Nothing short of a large vault can really help if the fire is intense enough & prolonged, but at least you improve the odds.
