Has anyone taken one of these tests and passed?
They are the ones that ask things like:
    P1-AO221A_CHEAT_NS_20090106204442.gif

    How'd you answer them?
    'Strongly?'

Not only do I disagree with those tests, I walk away from any job that requires them to be completed to get an interview.

My employer uses Unicru and the Kronos testing system. I have been looking for an assistant manager for a couple of months now and have received several applications, but seems as though no one is able to pass the test. So....does anyone know of anyone in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area looking for an assistant manager job who can pass? I did have 2 people pass it, but one wanted more money than I could offer and the other one I could not hire because he was not eligible for rehire at any of his previous jobs.

I like how they eliminate any impulse to answer honestly when obviously every applicant knows they need to figure out which answers are the "right" ones. It's not about who the applicant is, it's whether the applicant knows the conceptual basis behind what the employer wants in an ideal.

Apparently the system just assigns 3 colors- Red, Yellow, and Green- Obviously 'green' is a go and the others....

I also just received a phone call from one of the stores that I applied to- but I forgot how I answered their questions. The thing is... I received a rejection letter from them a few days ago... a "thanks but no thanks" sort of thing..... icon_neutral.gif

The way you have that worded sounds like you're placing the blame on the applicants for not being able to pass the test.

Ever stop and think, maybe they're just being honest? Come on, not one single person in the world is "perfect" enough to pass that test without lying. If I were you, I'd look for another job. I wouldn't work for a company that forces its employees to lie like that.

Edit: Or maybe, just maybe, you're one of the liars who passed it. icon_wink.gif

If the employer does not select you within a certain period of time, you will automatically receive a rejection letter even if you pass the assessment. I had applied for my job through careerbuilder in my local city and was actually hired by a head hunter for the same position in a different district. 3 weeks after I started, I got a rejection letter from the careerbuilder application. I thought that was kind of weird too and it was the same company, just a different district.

Awesome. Companies are hiring people that know how to take tests, rather than hiring skilled people that know how to perform the duties of the job.

I may have worded it a little bit wrong. I actually got yellow marks on my tests as I had to take 2 different ones. I absolutely believe that they are being honest, as I was and I would really like to hire one of the people who did not pass, but the system will not let me and corporate refuses to over ride the system. I just do not like these tests. Some very good people are still jobless as we can not hire them because they did not pass.

I'm bright and an obsessively hard worker and people pleaser, but I'm slightly autistic, and always blew all the standardized interviews. I spent 2 years unemployed because of it, despite rave recommendations from my previous employment.

I failed the one for Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Best Buy, and a couple other places I don't remember the names of.

Of course I wasn't going to take the jobs anyway (way overqualified for positions applied for), but I wanted to see if honesty would get me bonus points. Apparently it doesn't.
